This is one of my favorite new games to play. For the first time you play I highly recommend a quick read through of the rules and then just dive on in and play. The game is easier to understand once you have started to play and get into it.
I first played this at a friend’s house for game night, and was floored by this game — so much so that I had to have it for my own game collection. We played with the maximum number of players, five, which seems to be the sweet spot, and got down to the very last card before being defeated. This really is a difficult game to play, but whether you win or lose, you’ll find that the experience was well worth it. I will be introducing more friends to this game at our company lunch this week.
A very enjoyable game that can be played in under an hour. Rewards thoughtfulness, cooperation, building alliances, and at times, self sacrifice to benefit the group.
My favourite cooperative game so far. I’ve played this with kids as young as 5 and with adults. (some slight modifications for the young ones) but is great because you are all working together. Fantastic game.
I bought it for the them and the design.The game has kind of difficult rules, we had to check the rulebook many times to find the exact winning/losing conditions, but it is not a big problem as it is a famous game and there is plenty of info on the internet.
A group of four of us played this. It’s a little difficult to learn at first and definitely tough to win, but a lot of fun to play. We ordered the expansion, but haven’t played the game with it yet.
Sometimes its nice playing a co-op game because we all know that when the typical competitive board game hits the table, warfare happens both in and out of the game.In grizzled, the whole table gets equally screwed by war, and everyone’s in it together– win or lose. In typical games you tend to want to hide your cards and make it so that your opponents can’t tell what you have. In Grizzled COOP, you instead WANT to share information but you can’t … explicitly. So to be efficient at playing, you really have to keep in mind what your teammates have left to use in order to choose the best card to play. Highly recommended, me and my group of friends had a blast playing!
A thematic and cooperative game. Just a beautiful design and an even more wonderful and heart wrenching story.Friendship through hard times.
This is a small game you’ll take out with you and try on friends who game and friends who don’t. Simply to learn and engages the whole group, as you try to stay alive until peace breaks out. I don’t usually enjoy any war themed games, this is an exception.
Fun game!
