Graphics are great. It has the real weapons that they had in the Civil War and almost the same combat.
First off, I’d like to say that I am a Civil War buff and I enjoy anything that has to do with the subject. So….after playing through the pc version of Civil War: Secret Missions, I decided to get the prequel to that game. After ordering the pc version, I was disappointed to find it didn’t run at all on Windows 7. I was lucky enough to find an xbox 360 at a garage sale for a good price (and yes, it runs, too). I then got the xbox version of this game and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I still play this game a lot. Here is basically how the game is: There are only twelve missions, battles, whatever you want to call ’em. However, I found each one to be extremely fun and enjoyable. Here is a brief list of each CS mission and what they are like: Confederate: 1. Bull Run: An okay mission, not exactly one of my favorites but not bad since there is a little bit of line fighting in this one (a little bit mind you). You have to destroy a cannon position and then destroy three rows of barricades. Lots of fighting in farm areas. 2. Shiloh: One of the worst missions of the set. Completely historically inaccurate it’s absurd. You and you alone have to "slice the throats" of Union guards with a bowie knife (okay? I don’t recall that happening in the Battle of Shiloh though the Confederates did surprise the Union with an early morning attack). You can’t even get close enough to slice a picket’s throat before the spin around and start shooting. If you are lucky enough to down.
Great shop! Top notch product!
I really love this video game and the shipping was really fast
Great Product
I just like blowen things up only on games &killing I take my anger out on the bad guys
Great game for history gamers. The controls were easy to adapt to, I was able to start playing right away. My only issue is that it’s very hard to move up a level and each level is much more challanging than the last. But overall a great game.
Made a difference in my thinking of this war. Real sad stories about this war and the men and women who still fight for this reason. Sad Sad…
Most people have ZERO CLUE about history, especially American history. The Civil War is the story of us. If the North had lost, it’s very doubtful we would have cared anything about WW1 & WW2. Like I said, this is worth your time. You can play BOTH North & South.
The History Channel’s Civil War: A Nation Divided was absolutely a blast to play. It is in many respects a standard first-person shooter with a wonderful setting. Many weapons are one-shot and require reloading after firing (time to charge with bayonett). Missions tend to be shorter than average: clear out some enemies, blow up something, but really the mission perameters are similar to other FPS in the genre like Call of Duty. There are two career paths, one Union and one Confederate. Each battle is prefaced with a historical introduction, which to me is about a million times more interesting than the fictional stories that attempt to segue between missions in standard video games.Yes, there is room for improvement: no multiplayer, no cavalry, AI infantry sometimes get hung up. But is it a bad game? Not at all. It is a blast to play through on easy in an afternoon, and the challenge goes way up on harder levels.
