Case keeps falling apart, but the game itself is in good condition. Over all I am happy.
I absolutely love this game! I’ve never played it before, but I’m glad I finally got around to purchasing this! I didn’t pay the nearly $200 copy, I would assume that was a brand spanking new copy, so I just picked up a used copy, even though I ended up with the Greatest Hits version, which is slightly censored and has more mature parts cut out, unlike the original release which is completely uncensored and uncut, I’m still happy, especially since the previous owner took VERY good care of it as it still looks brand new! I’ll look up those cut parts up later, which I’m pretty sure had absolutely no impact on the story anyway but it would be nice to see everything as intended. Well, I’m about 8 hours into the game and I’m absolutely loving it so far, and since this is a JRPG, I know I’m just getting started! :)
It’s most likely that you have played, or at least heard of FF7 somewhere along the line. Given how much praise it gets even to this day, over a decade later. But with so much praise, there is a big chance for letdowns. Most of the acclaim for this entry in the series comes from the fact it “was” a graphical monster. No RPG had been done in 3D before it, but if you take that away; what else makes it so good? Well thankfully, there are many other strengths that the game has going for it. The characters are very well done for the most part, although I question Cloud’s consistency in personality throughout the game; still the characters are for the most part very unique. The story is, as you’d expect from the Final Fantasy name; amazing. Although it too gets tangled up some times, the main theme is still very much worth playing for. The game plays much like the other titles, any character in the game can use any magic in your inventory. If you have played any of the earlier titles you’d probably feel right at home. The sounds in this game are very nice, and the music is amazing throughout. The only things I can say would turn you off for this title would be that the price may be a bit much for a used copy. The other is that most people these days are spoiled with amazing graphics, and might not really get into this sort of game. But if you can look past these issues, then I’d say absolutely; you should get it.
One of the best Final Fantasy games ever made has to be Final Fantasy VII. The gameplay has something to offer for anyone who is a Final Fantasy fan. The plot stays rather consistent throughout the game, without sudden random changes that some games you can play has. The characters each have their own unique story, which in time you do get to explore. The graphics, are ancient compared to games that are out on say the PS3, XBOX 360, and so on, but for this particular game, it wasn’t about the graphics. The music for Final Fantasy VII stays completely consistent with the game as well. The score that was done for the game, has a nice relaxing feel to it, and when the heat of battle goes into play the music changes, but very fluidly. Overall this game has really changed the video game world, since its debut in 1997, the game is rated teen for some swearing, I was able to start playing this game when I was 12 when it first came out, and I still play it, and Im 25 now. The overall of this game is amazing, as long as you don’t mind how old this game is.
Bought this sealed from Jbs Books brand new. I own this game on multiple systems and will keep this copy sealed and part of my video game collection forever.
I never got the chance to play this growing up. I finally went out to buy it to see what all the hype was about, and it took me back to memory lane. I love the soundtrack, and love the overall interactive design. The interaction factor can keep you engaged. The story was always weird to me, and felt like patchwork, but now that I am older and wiser, I can make sense out of it now. After playing through this recently, I can saw that for its time, it may have been seen as the greatest ever, but I have a few grips I don’t like about it. Yet, still it is good game! I played Crisis Core first, so next will be Dirge of Cerebus. To any fan or newcomer to Final Fantasy, such as myself, I highly recommend this game, but you will have to set aside alot of time to get the most out of it.
I just started disc 2. The event that unfolded before my eyes, to me is nothing less than a tragedy that occurred in another dimension, like a dream. I don’t understand what it is about this game and how it was perfectly developed and presented to the player, but it will leave an impression on you that no other video game can, most movies can’t either. This is an example of amazing story telling, genius manga art style from the peak in the 1990’s of the style, and a phenomenal game play battle system. 10/10.
If you want to make sense of the Advent Children Arc in the Final Fantasy series, this would be your go-to game! No spoilers from me though! It really brings you back when you look at the first concepts of 3-D worlds one of it’s earliest stage; especially on a 32-BIT console! If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, or just like JRPGs, this would be the game for you! Don’t let a review stop you from trying something new, and always experience things for yourself with a blank slate; that’s what really makes a game fun to play.
……that hasn’t already been said a million times by a million people. The game is that good , it has without question earned it’s place among the top 2 or 3 all time RPG’s to date. I played many before and hundreds since and this is the only game that had me invested enough in a character and a story line that when that character died I dropped my controller in shock and a small tear may have found it’s way down my cheek. It’s a game that , especially at the time of it’s release was just that good. If you have had enough interest you found yourself already at this page and remarkably reading my humble review than all I can tell you is….STOP READING NOW AND GO BUY IT…….it is just that damn good. Beware on price though. An original black label version can top $100 in auctions if collecting is your thing , avoid the scammer’s asking hundred’s. Depending on current market $85 to $125 are about right for the black label one’s. If you just want to play it and collecting isn’t for you the greatest hits version is more reasonable at $25 to $40 , it’s the same game either way and the greatest hits one is a steal in terms of entertainment value.
This game is a three disc rpg turn based game with the best storyline of it’s time. It revolutionized gaming. It literally has weeks worth of playtime value being that you could sit down and play it for weeks on end straight through, non stop and still not do everything there is to do. I absolutely love this game. You find yourself spending so much time playing the characters , that you can’t help but care about what happens next, which is a big kudos to the writers at SquareSoft no SquareEnix. They really know their stuff. I’m not going to say what the game is about, on the off chance that you’ve never played it. I would want to spoil it. I will say be prepared for long hours and late night snacks. I don’t recommend this to anyone who works long hours at a job or around heavy machinery. You tend to daze off thinking about the game when you aren’t playing.
