I don’t know what is wrong with people who say they don’t like the film. How more do you want.. It has it all. Very good acting and a story line you can follow….And it a feel good movie… A big A++++++ from me
On of my favorite movies, no doubt. Bruce is at his best, and Mila is fantastic also. Chris is a little nuts, but it plays into the crazy plot, so it’s OK. For a futuristic adventure, it’s got suspense, romance, comedy, and thrills – can’t ask for more than that! From the opening scene, right to the end – the entire movie keeps a quick pace, never dull, and never boring. Great supporting cast (like the unusual choices for future earth’s government), and creative alien creatures. It’s like a "Total Recall" meets "Bladerunner" meets "Star Wars". No matter how many times I watch it, I still enjoy it – hoping you will too.
I love the movie, probably one of my all-time favorites. As for he 4K, I’m sad the Ultraviolet copy is only in HD., not UHD.
Imagine watching Fifth Element as "real life" but reflected thru a mirror. The image is so sharp you’ll feel the urge to push your hand thru the screen. Willis and Jovovich are a sexy pair so the urge to touch is awfully tempting! Equally sexy are the unsurpassed special effects that beat the you-know-what out of Star Wars: Episode I. In this medium (DVD) the movie becomes much better than VHS because everything is so vivid, sharp and colorful. Even Chris Tucker is more funny than annoying on DVD. The dim-witted alien creatures are a delight! As far as auditory, very few DVDs measure up to this. From sound fx to opra music you’ll want to turn it up! I believe the Fifth Element is the perfect DVD to show off your DVD equipment or perhaps to let it loop in your electronics store. It’s the one I’d use to sell units (if I had a store, that is). My version had no extras like trailers and such. I did find the alternate Spanish soundtrack interesting. I paid … for this from ………………. club (last one I have to buy, I figured what the heck). Easily worth … less from ……….. You will not be disappointed!!
This movie hits me in the heart, besides being great entertainment, wonderful characters and great acting, It has a message. As stated in the Bahai’ writings ( Love is the emanating force that binds the universe together ) and that is what the character Le lu , says at the end of the movie. Being a Bahai’ myself, that statement has always been the core of my belief.
Bruce Willis is at his best as a retired military officer who is now working as a cabbie in the future. A very special envoy sent from "Heaven" is sent to earth to save mankind from a planet of evil beings spent on destroying earth. This person (she) literally falls into his cab and he saves her from police pursuers and bad guys and eventually discovers the secret of four sacred "stones" with special powers of fire, wind, water, and love. Last minute heroics by Bruce and the cast saves the earth and he and the envoy get together for a life ever after. Good acting, good action, good music and a fast pace make this movie a solid 5 star feature.
This is a fun action-packed drama, with a little romance mixed in. Leelu is the Fifth Element, which is a divine tool used to fight against evil/darkness every 5000 years. The story is about some priests who protect an archealogical dig which is the site of the weapon, where 4 stones (the 4 elements) surround a 5th element (where Leelu would stand) in order to activate the 5th element. The priests are the ones who preserve the knowledge needed to fight this evil and maintain contact with the people who can aid them when the time comes. Leelu’s spaceship crash lands on the planet when they are arriving in time for the big battle, and has to find help to escape her predicament and save the world.
I owned this on VHS, and then on DVD and when my DVD player took a dive I could not help but get a new edition. It is a great movie of course. I would say a classic of its age! The HD copy is fantastic, and I love that it will detect your net speed and adjust as needed to stop pausing to load.
First time I saw this, I was thrilled. It’s science fiction, it’s futuristic, it has good aliens and bad ones. It has mystery, and larger than life questions. It has Bruce Willis in a hero role, which he does well. The various scenes are satisfying in their futuristic styles, and the implications of society are lightly shown, it’s all about saving the world as it is by the 5th element. Colorful and action packed.
Who hasn’t seen this yet? If the answer is you… then what are you doing with your life? Probably more than me, that’s why you don’t have time to watch movies and I do, but nevertheless, go watch this. NOW!
