flawless
Another excellent japanese horror style video game, way to go Temco.
Great game so far, but it’s dark in every since of the word. Rated one of the scariest video games of all time, so if you can buy it, get it
I had the nerve to play this game alone in the dark and with surround sound ( not intentional). I have never been so freaked out like I was with this game. But it was a blast to play. I must admit it was the last Fatal Frame game I played.
This is one of the scariest games I’ve played to date, and I’ve played plenty of them. Even for a game from 2003, it still has great graphics and replay value. My only problem is that there is some button input delay, so attacking is just a bit annoying. I eventually found out that the game requires that you press the button hard to get better chances of the game responding. (Strange, but maybe old cameras worked that way and the development team wanted to mirror the old cameras) This of course, is the developer’s fault and not the shop’s. Otherwise, it’s an amazing experience.
Love it
Although Fatal Frame repeats itself here with a similiar storyline, the much improved graphics more than make up for it. Despite the similiarities, Tecmo made this entry stand on its own with new ghosts, creepy and atmospheric music, and new camera abilities.
Like the game but it’s hard to see on a LCD TV and I personally think 1 and three are better. One being my fave. there is one part of the game called the doll puzzle where you have to stick two dolls heads on and have a min to solve so here’s the you tube link for solution skip to 11 minuets in and on the rope ghost part before the doll puzzle just run between the walls to the door. the camera is useless against him and as long as you run as soon as you open the door your be fine.
This game is cunning. I was praising myself too early at being able to handle the tension, but a couple of ghosts later I was in a strange trance, a place of limbo where I could not stop playing but didn’t like continuing either. A door would shut behind me and I would about go into a siezure. A hour and a half later I was upstairs watching the Antique Road Show with my parents. The drama and style have a strong transporting ability. The cut scenes are very fluid, amazing really. Red crimson is a character all on it’s own. The extreme contrasts of the fawn like qaulity of the sisters against the ongoing questionable shapes in the environment keeps the tension mounted. Sounds come and go irradically—get ready to turn up the sound to hear the kitten like voices of the girls–making way for more ominious noises to crash into your consciousness. It took a lot for me to get used to the fact that it’s so bloody dark – it’s hard to tell a door from a wall or which way is a path and which isn’t. I am guessing that that is part of what makes the game so intense, to be always trying to figure out what things are, but I found it a bit frustrating. This is probably the darkest game I have played, not only because of the startling images, but because the story feels so personal.
Fatal Frame 2 is an absolute work of art. When I first tried the game I found the controls hard to use and the use of the camera confused me. Also, at first, I didn’t like playing as a little girl. But the story of the twin girls stuck in my mind like one of those once in a life time movies. That is what is outstanding in Fatal Frame 2. I am playing a well thought out ghost story and the voice acting is so good. The added videos in the gallery are cinemaquality and as I watched the Tokyo game show edition, I choked a tear back. While game play is hard to get used to, the visuals and story are well worth the practice, but harder then the camera to get used to is the fear factor. no other game has ever scared me as much as this game. But then I was not bombarded by scene after scene with cheesy scare tactics. the game will get you when you least expect it and you will remember it. Well worth the buy. Stunning visuals, an excellent and well written story. The only downside-taking the time to learn the camera so I could get through the story faster because it is so good.
