Double Dragon is the story of Billy and Jimmy Lee, twin brothers who learned to fight on the cold, tough streets of the city. Their expert knowledge of the martial arts combined with their street smarts, has made them both formidable fighting machines. But now Billy is faced with his greatest challenge. Billy Lee must punch and kick his way through the crime-ridden streets, taking on the Black Warriors gang in a bid to rescue Bill’s sweetheart Marian from the clutches of the Shadow Boss.

Double Dragon II will forever be my favorite NES game, but this is what started it all. It’s a hard game some times, but it’s fun. Graphics aren’t as good as DD II.
Came in fast and on time. Item was exactly as described by shop and works perfect. Great game. One of my first NES games I ever owned. Still awesome.
The grandfather of beat em ups this game started the genre I love the story music and characters but this game is hard as hell but that’s the beauty of games like that.
When this Arcade classic was going to be ported into the NES, it was hard for some fans to understand that the techinical limitations of the NES to prevent the emulation of the graphics, but it was once forgotten in time. Although I never played the Arcade version of the game, the game play on the NES is fairly simular to the arcade with a few differences. Instead of the 2 player co-op done in the arcade, the two-players mode in the main game (“Mode A”) is done by alternating, although both players take control of Billy. It also turns out that Billy has to face his twin brother, Jimmy in the end to save his girlfriend Marian. Another difference is that many attacks have to be earned by scoring hearts and the only way to rapidly earn hearts is by executing the famular time attacks to your enemies (hitting your oponent two times, leave them alone and then repeat until they finally fall, but the process can be difficult if your oponent is armed or can perform a jumpkick). There are many ways to cheat in Double Dragon, but they won’t earn you any points so its best to go hardcore and get all your special attacks. You will need all of them to defeat that annoying machine gun toting Willy (originally the last boss in the arcade) and then face your twin brother. I have a few complaints about Double Dragon. Many obsticles you must avoid near the end of Mission 3 and most of Mission 4 (eg. Medium Sized Boulders, protruding stones, falling spikes, fast moving ledges) are diffic.
Old school , love it
A+
It’s Double Dragon~ one of the old time classic beat ’em ups…unfortunately one player only…
Not much to say about this game, other then the fact that its hard.I loved it when I was a kid when I could only rent it, but never could beat it.Now that I own it, I finally did. And boy… It wasn’t much easier now then it was back then.Had to use the Genie on it to do so.
I totalled loved this game as a kid and to play it again after several years at the age of 28 it is still fun to me. one of the best games i ever played.
Double Dragon in the arcade was for it’s time was just amazing. So when the NES game was made, it was one of the more popular games for the system. The game itself is agreat NES game. The graphics are nothing amazing but it does have some nice details, Like the opening with girl geting punched in stomach then carried away. The gameplay is basicly going through diffrent stages beating people up, It’s fun if not more difficult then the arcade because it keeps you from doing moves that you immeditley have in the begining, but you have to fight and gain points to get those moves. The controls are virtuly perfect to me, Punching is the B button, Kicking is the A button, Both pick up wepons, also both buttons pressed will make Billy jump. Other then the main game theres this fighting game mode which you pick a character and fight, It’s just alright but the main game is the main attraction. So that’s all I have to say about it, It really is a game that any one that owns a NES should abosloutly have, It really is a classic.
