Fantastic, fantastic game. While Invisible War wasn’t BAD, it didn’t really feel like Deus Ex. Human Revolution, however, is VERY much in keeping with the feel of the original game, and it is absolutely gorgeous to boot.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a game that got buried under a sea of other releases I knew more about. It came out of nowhere for me, I never played the original Deus Ex so I had no idea what I was in for. The systems are reminiscent to Alpha Protocol (another game I enjoyed immensely,) visually it is attractive with a consistent aesthetic (tall collars, anyone?) and solid, if a bit small, city-hubs. The music is beautifully composed and fits appropriately in the moments, the dialogue system is well made and intriguing, giving multiple options. I, like so many others, am disappointed that the boss battles are so straight-forward, but going for Pacifist and Foxiest of Hounds achievements while playing on hard provides enough difficulty to offset this, and the voice acting is solid. The real strength of this game lies in its narrative, though. It would be average instead of amazing if it weren’t for this complex spider-webbed story. It provides intrigue and espionage with a future view and commentary on current events, from SOPA, PIPA, and censorship/control of information to transhumanism as an entirely more potent philosophy than it is today, realized through augmentation and artificial evolution. The intricacies of the story mix well into the plot of the game and the back-story is subtle and told through in-game items, books, magazines, newspapers all providing a view of this world as it was and as it is. I would strongly recommend if you love a story-driven game with compel.
but had to give up on it when I got to a boss I just couldn’t beat. For anyone with patience who loves gaming, get this. It’s film noir on the screen.
Certainly as fun as Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but not as open-world as either of them (not even close). Fairly linear with a tiny amount of side quests located within city hubs while you work your way through the game. It is a very fun action game in the same vein as Bioshock. Pick and choose your powers as you level up and/or find them strewn about the expansive and detailed levels. Multiple paths: sneak your way in, shoot them all down, or talk your way past (rarely). But don’t neglect the combat powers because the boss fights are annoyingly hard, even on easy mode.
I haven’t played the first one and I didn’t really have any expectation. I am glad the graphic on Xbox looks as good as on PC. I know a lot of people complain on the graphic. It is sure not a breath taker but it sure is on the top 10%. The story is pretty good. I enjoy the story part a lot. The Hangsta map is very hard to read and doesn’t look China. All the women dress pretty much the same. The Limp store doesn’t really sell anything good. I like the mini games and the side quests a lot. I wish there is a way to gain experience easier.In conclusion, I like the game quite a bit and I beat the game in three days (not continuously. I need to work, eat, sleep and interact with people in real life.)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution offers players variety and free choice, mainly in their approach to the missions (combat vs. stealth), and in what upgrades they select for their character. Playing through with an emphasis on evading enemies is a much different experience than playing with guns drawn, but either style can work.Players can earn enough upgrade points to make a powerful character, but by no means to have every upgrade. Part of the fun is figuring out which upgrades will be best for your preferred style, and what combination of upgrades will provide the optimum overall benefit.I found it best as a stealth game, offering plenty of challenge and being quite immersive. Sometimes I found myself holding my breath as an enemy guard walked near my character’s hiding place, lest the guard hear me and set off the alarm. Once detected, however, the gun combat fails to meet the same high standard, and the game descends into a fairly mediocre shooter.Recommended most for stealth enthusiasts, shooter fans will find better shooting elsewhere. On a numerical scale I’d rate the game 8/10 overall.
This is an awesome game for those who like being able to choose how their character is made, how they fight, and how to solve different problems. For example, you want to get into a certain room, but it’s locked. You can either find the key hidden away somewhere, find a vent or some other way to get into the room, or take down someone and take the key from them. I love playing games like this and recommend it to anyone looking for an immersive story, great voice acting, a well made combat system, and lots of action.
