this game is just a blast. the lighting, the motion, the acting, it’s well done. if you are a fan of westerns i can’t imagine you not digging this. if you aren’t particularly, there’s still plenty for FPS fans to sink their teeth into. only complaint, (and its not a short game) i wish it were longer. ;)
Good ps3 game
This is one game I’m really glad I have in my collection of video games. If you like anything that has to do with the Old West, you’ll love this game.Let me tell you something. This has got one of the best looking video game engines I have ever seen for a PlayStation 3 video game. The game developer is called Techland and the video game engine they use to build this game is called the Chrome Engine 4. The outdoor scenes especially toward the middle of the game are just spectacular. I honestly went exploring around on some maps just to look at the scenery. Some of the maps are sandbox (Free Worlds) and these Free World maps are huge and you can go anywhere on these maps to explore. I love mounting a horse and just riding around looking at things. I live in Utah and the outdoor scenes in the Southwest United States in the game are just like they are in real life with the beautiful canyons and mountains scenes. The streams and rivers and waterfalls look like they have real water flowing through them.Okay as far as the story goes to this game, I think the story line is pretty good. There are two main characters mentioned throughout the game that are brothers. The oldest brother is called Ray McCall and the younger brother is called Thomas McCall. What most reviews to this game fail to mention is that there is a third brother in the game who is the youngest brother. His name is William. He doesn’t carry a gun since he is more like a preacher who preaches about God and.
After reading about this game and the up coming Red Redemtion coming out this Christmas season, I was really looking forward to Red Redemtion more. However, after playing Call of Juarez I have my doubts that Red Redemtion will be better.Even being a hardcore WW2 fan, I too was getting sick of the subject matter. Future FPSers were also getting long in the tooth. I love westerns and it really is the only reason I went for this title. Glad I did. The story was better than almost any other game I’ve played. Not as predictable as it appears it will be.The weapons are so so, the character art work is so so, sound is so so and the gameplay is just okay BUT … in combination with the good story and a fresh kind of world it just captured my imagination and was a LOT of fun.Some of the terrain was best I’ve seen, especially in high forest areas. I live in California and back packed a lot in the Serrias and Cascade mountain range … they nailed the look of it right on. I also have spent time in Arizona, Nevada and Mexico and they nailed that look as well.A very satisfied customer, I highly recommend to any fan of westerns.

Its a good first person shooter.Along the like of Gun or Red Dead Revolver for PS2.Last boss is super hard.Needs more weapon choices.
Thanks for the review by Parental Rights. I completely agree. This was fun. The change from one brother to the other was great. Plan ahead as each has his own strengths. I have enjoyed the series since the first and this is the best yet. If you are looking for a different kind of shooter in first person you will like this one. The one on one gunfights alone make it worth playing again.

Call of Juarez is a bargain-priced gem. The misadventures of the McCall brothers from the Civil War to the their quest for gold and glory in Mexico is a thrilling ride with countless scenes and showdowns. A truly enjoyable shooter, it looks great and contains its share of surprises. The graphics are superb and the range of weaponry is fantastic and sometimes difficult. So many options come from playing the game through either one of the main characters. The cut scenes can run long but they can be skipped. While the language and gameplay can be vulgar and somewhat politically incorrect, the overall experience is a fun, lead-filled frolic. Recommended.
Since Western themed games come out once every blue moon, the wait better be worth it. This game IS worth the 2 yr wait. Terrific story and acting, top notch gameplay (never a problem knowing what to do or where to go),and user friendly controls for skill levels of all types make this my sleeper hit of 2009. Graphics are sharp as well. I highly recommend Call Of Juarez Bound in Blood, i just wish game developers would flood the market with westerns like they do with WWII shooters every 3 months. C’mon guys, the WWII genere is soooo outplayed. Do yourself a favor and play this game.
