After having dropped $60+ on Call of Duty: Ghosts, and quickly gotten to the point of selling it after a couple wasted weeks, I went back to Call of Duty Black Ops 2 (BO2) and am now writing a review about it, finally.I was NOT a fan of Black Ops 1, I thought it was too hard in bad ways in both the campaign and multiplayer modes. I loved MW2, liked MW3, and figured I would skip BO2 for the next MW game, until I finally, skeptically, tried BO2 at my friend's place and was amazed that I really liked it. I bought it myself then.Campaign:I really was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the campaign mode - I was expecting it to be terrible (boring, WAY too fast, hard in the whole you-get-shot-once-and-have-to-hide-most-of-the-time way like a lot of the games seem to be getting like, and cliche), but it was not any of that - it was quite fun! You cared about the plot, the game play was fun enough and I liked that in some parts you had an option with which action to take depending on a few different things, and the action you took determined the ending of the game. It was enjoyable to play.Multiplayer (online, team deathmatch):The multiplayer (team deathmatch, all the other modes are not for myself and my buddy as more casual of gamers, we found) was quite difficult at first, but I found that while I died a LOT early on, with practice and upgrades I still died a LOT, but had more fun doing so. I've played MW3,Black Ops, and Black Ops 2. But let me tell you....this game is so much fun! The best COD game I've ever played and it has a variety of game modes. The story mode is a little bland but I play it to kick some ass online. You can't go wrong with playing this one out of all the COD games out today.I got this game during the month it was relased on which was November. Really good game but connection issues here and there. But overall a great experience.I now have to buy another copy since my physical copy cracked. Flimsy things...

Great Product!I really liked the game. It was so fun and I personally think this was one of the greatest Call Of Duty game.The product was very special because I ordered it from a Third Party shop on here. I received it used but it worked well and it in-fact came with the Revolution map pack!I would like to point out the fact that the game does Freeze at times...which happens every hour or so... but it depends on how full your systems memory is, according to my testing.If you're looking to buy a Call Of Duty Game, but not spend a fortune, then buy this one... you should even consider buying it used, like me!Overall, it was a great buy, and I would definitely recommend the item for many others.Thanks!

My nephew is addicted to this game so I thought I would give it a try. The campaign is great, the zombie part is fun, but the online multiplayer has to be learned over time or prepare to be flattened by players that have hours upon hours on these games. It really is a good game but can be frustrating in multiplayer.

Even tho old I just got done playing some team deathmatch on it and it's a lot of fun.I especially like the Zombies mode of Tranzit where you ride a bus from hell.You can play Zombies two players offline for when your inlaws drop by.

I just started playing this week, but I completed the campaign on regular difficulty and am now playing multiplayer. I have owned the COD brand since World at War and continue to enjoy all games. I have never been a fan of the payment/token system in Black OPs, but this will certainly not stop me from playing. I do like how they improved the payment system by integrating the need to level up prior to equipment being available (as it is in Modern Warfare). Overall, buy the game.

I was skeptical upon first playing this game. If you're a big fan of the first Black Ops, you'll notice immediately how different this game looks and feels. But once you get used to all the changes you'll come to appreciate all the things the game improves upon the first. Most notably the amazing sound design, fast-pace, and customization options. Multiplayer has also been improved, with a much-needed "mute all except party" online option. The only downside to the game is that the shotgun and the sniper rifle don't take as much skill to use as before; the sniper is easier to control and more effective than before, and the shotguns have ridiculous range and power. Get passed the frustrations, get better, and you'll soon be on board with one of the greatest multiplayer shooters out there. As for its zombies feature and single player campaign? I honestly haven't tried them; there's too much fun to be had with multiplayer.

I loved the first black ops. The story mode is awesome to say the least. Most people get this game for the multiplayer though. Now hopping online with this game you can expect the same. No dedicated servers so people back out all the time and have to wait for a reconnect for a new host. Thank god it doesn't take that long. The knifing in this game is completely broke your lucky if you can hit someone. When you should knife them it doesn't work and when you shouldn't you do. They are constantly changing the guns its hard to find a favorite when they keep changing the stats of them. I do believe that the first black ops and mw3 hit detection was far superior, but it is manageable. This game is lacking a little customization from the other black ops, but not to serious. You can't choose face paints anymore and you have to prestige your weapons twice before you can put anything like a clan tag or a emblem on it. All and all I had a lot of fun with this game. Its definitely not perfect but that's call of duty for you. With the revenue it bring in I hoped for a bit of a better game but still a fun game in doses.

I really wanted this to be a 5 star all around great game, but the fact is although the storyline is still amazing and fun to play, the multiplayer leaves something to be desired much like Battlefield or Modern Warfare multiplayer. I do like how Nuketown is now able to just be selected if you got a preordered game but that may mean it may get old after awhile and not as exciting of a surprise. The multiplayer games like domination have changed slightly and seem a bit watered down. Overall Black Ops 2 is a great game to play but doesn't quite compare to the classical first but I'm also a huge fan of more historical WWII COD or Vietnam like in the first one rather than the futuristic ones.

My son enjoys this game and I let him tell me how many stars to give it.From an adult perspective, I don't care for the language used in the game. But my kids assure me that they hear the exact same things (and worse) every day in the hallways at their public high school. That doesn't mean I condone it, but my son is interested in a military career and for that reason alone I bought this for him and allow him to play it. It's very realistic and I understand that real military people use similar training tools.

Cod will always be cod, but what determines cod is whether or not the maps and guns are any good.Black Ops 2 for the most part has both.Gave the campaign mode a try, but it just didn't interest me.Online multiplayer is obviously the backbone of the franchise[Purchased on April 26, 2013]

Black Ops: Story is the best/ Multiplayer was cool (accumulating money and buying whatever you wanted)Black Ops 2: Story continues from the first and has the best action in the COD franchise.. however I find it hard to follow/ Multiplayer is more traditional, you level up to unlock your gear. The maps is where this game shines. The maps are fun to play, especially the DLC ones. The gameplay is more balanced and I find myself getting put into those matches less often where I'd get spawn killed right away or the team being screwed over by 20 attack helicopters. The replay theatre is back and even more awesome than ever (you can save more replays of the matches you've played). The gear you can unlock enables more optional strategy in your gameplay, not just oorah run and gunning all over the place like Rambo on crack. Overall, I believe this game is one of the best Call of Duty releases. More meaningful kills and less unfair deaths.

this was my first time playing the COD series. i would caution anyone who is new to this game and buying it for the multiplayer/online play, to understand that it is not a "pick-up-and-play" type game; meaning that most likely, you are not going to be very good at it to begin with. it is a very fun and very addictive game and it will be very frustrating to new players as it takes some time to get used to the controls, aiming, POV, and the maps. plus, you start at the bottom with basic weapons and no accessories for them and its a "pay your dues" type of thing. as you get more accustomed to the play, you will be able to unlock very neat weapons and the controls and POV will become natural to you. it took me about 3 weeks to get the hang of it, during which i vowed to never play the game again as it seemed I was always the "sacrificial lamb" in the online matches...now i have a hard time putting the game down. again, once you get the hang of it, the game is really fun and is really never the same each time you play it. after my 3 week "break-in" period, i was able to advance past level 55 and "prestige" in less than a week-and-a-half.as for the reviews mentioning bugs and problems with the online play, i have experienced none. i have a moderate high speed connection but nothing fancy, so most anyone with a good cable or DSL should be good to go.so, if you have the time to put into this game and don't get discouraged while learning to play, you will most likely really li.

Great campaign, many people are love the zombies maps, i think they could use more work. The online multiplayer is loved by many, hated by few. Dont let the people who hate it affect your decision. The best thing to do is try it yourself! If you liked modern warfare campaign you will love this too, if you loved black ops online you will like the online. The black ops online multiplayer has been made more in depth and fixed players concerns, They did a good job at giving each perk and weapon its own advantages, there is only 1 weapon that overpowers close range which im sure will be adjusted in a patch, everyone knows about it. Game on!

I love the multiplayer it is really good. The only downside to this game is the zombie modes suck. I really love the zombie modes on COD Black ops 1, but this one is just lame. there is a fog and hot lava that prevent any "run and gun" so its just gets boring and insanely hard.

Black Ops II really isn't as bad as some are making it out to be. Alot of people complain about connection issues, but i haven't run into any connection issues since i've bought mine and i've had mine for a while now. I also see that some complain about freezing, but just like any other game, i'm sure it can happen at least once or twice. Now i'm going to lie to you guys, even mine has freezed maybe twice at the most, but thats it. I live in a rural neighborhood just like the rest of you guys do so my connection is always fine. I didn't really buy this game for campaign mode, only just for Zombies and Multiplayer (i love to see the way how those kids get mad and rant when you shoot them up LOL). Overall, its "ok". Its not the best, but it keeps me coming back to play Multiplayer and Zombies so i can't complain.

Finally reviewing this game. HA bops2 has been out for a few months and information about the next cod is already gotten players ready to dispatch bops2. with a few months of gaming under my belt with this title i have to say bops2 has one of the best if not the best campaign plots. Treyarch has done an amazing job and balancing a drastic flip between two time periods (Vietnam and 2025). the transition between the two time periods arent annoying or awkward. everything flows and its honestly a great story.Online- as for the online features treyarch has made some improvements and actually listened some. the best way to think of the online experience is to think of bops 1 and mw3 mixed. treyarch basically took the best of both online aspects and meshed them into one awesome online/ zombie experience.Though this game might be at the start of its decline it is worth the buy ( at the right price)

When my mum told the price of black ops 2 which was i think $40 i was amazed this only came out in november. Now to the game itself. The campaign is hard to understand because a lot of the stuff was from the first black ops, but overall the campaign is very fun. Multiplayer i haven't gone on much but there is a wide range of game modes. But importanly the zombies. I can't stop playing zombies the maps which are town bus depot and farm are awesome. on bus depot there is a game mode called tranzit where you catch a bus to different places that is a lot of fun. Overall this game is a must have if you are into call of duty and first person shooters

Sure it has gameplay that is basically the same formula as all the others but I am a much bigger fan of how Treyarch tries to change things up. Adding multiple paths and different endings through the game are nice, the strike force missions are not a bad idea but the AI can be inresponsive and this mode could be fleshed out more. Zombies... well i never have been a fan of this mode, maybe because I'm not good at it or because i found their to be no point, but it's bigger and more enjoyable... still not a story to it though. And most people will of course get this for the multiplayer. It again plays just like the rest but I am a fan of this pick ten system but not a fan of the maps.

My Husband purchased this Call of Duty, Black Ops a while back and I swear I didn't have a single conversation for days....it was him and his headset for days...now my Step son has this game and when he's over, he doesn't come out of his room. Take the old, revamp, change the story, and BlOps turns into BlOps2. That being said, I enjoy the game quite a bit.I haven't finished the campaign, but the story seems slightly more detail-oriented, although it is all over the place like you'd expect it to be. Some interesting pieces were thrown in. I hated the horse mission. Moving around with a horse is about as affective as running without it, which I tried and is simply not an option. The strike force missions are a nice break fron fps gameplay, but one stupidly expects the AI to do its job but, more oftenthan not, it will just get killed, leaving you to chaotically jump back and forth between units.Multi-player is enjoyable. The improvement of score streaks earns you points towards rewards for anything that gives you points, including UAV assists. The crossbow has 6 bolts total, if I remember right. The revamped custom class system is a sometimes enraging improvement, but allows one to carry a combat knife instead of a secondary. Knifing is more precise, and can cause frustration. The killstreaks are fun and there isn't a gun that stands out too much as OP to me (yet) Finally two people can log in to separate PSN accounts while playing in split screen multiplayer, a feature I've waited for for too long!Zombies is massive and I haven't had mch time to play with it. What I have playef is fun, and Tranzit mode is terrifying. I am thankful for the Easy difficulty so I can learn the maps easily.Worth a buy if you're a CoD fan.

I really enjoy playing split screen with my friends the most. I have also played the campaign thru. the only down side is the horribly long drawn out cinematic scenes. they should cut those out and make room for more game-play content. that is what people buy games for.

Compared to the first black ops, zombie maps were awesome and fun. Tranzit requires more time and is more difficult with all the lava; this takes the fun out of it for me.Its also harder to get melee kills online with the regular knife.Aside from that everything else is fun and I love the 10 item system for online classes.Also you may notice your PS3 making alot of Disc Drive noise with this game. Apparently this is normal and its not breaking your PS3. I have a PS3 slim 120 GB.

The online game is fun and addicting. I am not a big gamer, but I am enjoying it. I dont really care about the storyline. It is long winded, somewhat confusing and not nearly as much fun as online.I have not experienced any problems with online at all. I probably have played on average 1 hour a day for the last 2 weeks. Most of my playing is on Sundays for 2-4 hours at a time without trouble.

After initially being comprehensive about buying MW3 in 2011, I bought it and was ultimately disappointed. Then, Black Ops 2 came in 2012. I saw the futuristic based gameplay and thought, "I am through with COD." I also thought that it is just another COD, except a futuristic version. However, I kept hearing about the how great the story was, over eight months. Not only that, I saw the game is not only based in the future. It tells a story that builds from the Cold War Era of the first Black Ops. I saw the game for under $30 and figured I'd give it a try. I am glad I did. In fact, I could have bought this game full price. I feel like I got a steal. Here is the reason why......CAMPAIGN/STORY: The game does take place in 2025. However, most of the game will NOT take place during that time. Black Ops character, Sgt. Frank Woods, who is now old, will tell Alex Mason's son, David aka "Section" a story about the rise of a madman (Raul Menendez) from the Cold War era to the present day of 2025. Of course, most of the missions will take place during the Cold War era, so players can get an understanding of how everything began. Of course, players will play as Alex Mason and also see other familiar characters, such as the young version of Sgt. Woods and CIA member Jason Hudson. During the 2025 era, players WILL play as Section and will see some new characters, such as Mike Harper, who is voiced-over by actor Michael Rooker.GAMEPLAY: Players that are familiar with COD a.

I am absolutely blown away by the newest Call of Duty. The campaign was INCREDIBLE!! For Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 I wasn't very entertained, but this one had me enthralled to play for hours on end. Excellent story, awesome guns, and the new multiplayer is amazing! You unlock attachments for guns by using them (MUCH better than buying them with COD Points), have much easier gun unlocks, more game modes, scorestreaks which cause you to be a team player, and, best of all - in some cases better maps. One negative is that they removed the gambling aspect of Gun Game/One in the Chamber/Sticks and Stones/Sharpshooter. Now it is simply "Party Games", and you can't really win anything from them. Also, it can be quite irritating playing Gun Game with 8 people versus 6, as you have a lot less time to get ranked up (I don't play 24/7, sorry).OVERALL : Get this game! Incredible multiplayer, campaign, and zombies is even pretty fun.

The gameplay in multi-player is intense.I really enjoy playing this game. The only downside to games such as these, with high intensity, is that it may make people a bit tense or stressed after playing for awhile.My opinion is to play for a short amount of time and take a break etc.Other than that it's a fun game.Adults only of course.

I love this game! I've been playing it a lot. The best part about black ops 2 is that it appeals to people who like normal fps action online or if you like killing zombies. It appeals to both groups of people really nicely. I can tell you that I am more of a zombie fanatic and the tranzit mode is a lot of fun. If you get this, you won't be disappointed.

The game is great. The upgrades are great. It actually is worth the purchase. BUT... the biggest problem with this game is online with the lag issues. The better player will always be the one with the best lag! AND it does't matter how good your internet connection is, YOU might still be the one with the bad lag!

This game might be my favorite Call of Duty to date. In my opinion, Black ops 1's multiplayer was terrible and so was MW3'S. So I was hesitant to get this game. However, many of my friends bought it so i purchased the game and instantly knew that it was a great game for both the campaign and the multiplayer. I'm not much of a zombies guy, but I like to play zombies with friends not solo. In my opinion, it is more fun playing with your friends. I also like how you can choose your loadout before each mission in the campaign so now i can equip a sniper for every mission. I also like how you can do the pick 10 system for multiplayer so if you're like me and don't use a secondary weapon, you can trade that for an extra perk. This game will keep me entertained for a long time and definitely until the next call of duty. I hope Infinity Ward can match the intensity of this game and create a unique game.

Treyarch hit the ground running with this title. Everything is not only improved, but feels fresh.I overly enjoyed finding out what happened to my favorite characters from Black Ops, and I really liked the newcomers. I especially liked the villain, Manendez. For a CoD game, it was really nice to delve deep into his past and reasoning behind his actions and not just 'hey, bad guy.'The MP is definitely well done with it's Pick-10, simplified set-up. Personally, I've had very little technical issues playing online or finding matches. I may be lucky, but this game really shines and is quickly becoming my favorite in the series.As for Zombies, this is my black sheep. With the promise of a campaign there isn't one, it's still a survival game with no real end, and for once I'd like to actually complete something other than another tedious easter egg to get more story bits. Other than that and those silly Strike Force missions, this game is fantastic.

Love all the cod FPS games, but do SOMETHING about the freaking cheaters, like 300 kill point, auto aim bot, and so on, it is ruining the on line games.It could be the perfect on line shooter, if there where no cheaters, but I know, if you banned cheaters they will sell a lot less games !!

I really like this game. I haven't had a chance playing the campaign because I want to finish the campaign on Black Ops 1 first. The graphics are better on this compared to Black Ops 1. The only thing is it will take a while to get really good at this game. It might take me months before I can get 30 kills in a match like the other players do. Also, it might be technical issues. They say playing on a computer monitor helps, but I rather play the game on my 53 inch flat screen TV. The response time on a monitor can be 5 ms or less while on a TV can be 150 ms.

Like the Call of Duty games that came before it, this game is as fun and addicting as the rest of them. It doesn't nothing major to shake things up though. It is more of the same and although that is probably what people want, I wish they would put more effort in innovation.

I never was into COD: Black Ops but my friend got me into the game. It's really fun to play the deathmatches and zombie modes with friends and other people across PSN. I just wish you didn't need to pay for the extra maps but I can live with that.Sometimes It can get frustrating when some team members don't do anything or give any effort but just try your best and you will be good.Sometimes, you may be shooting at another player on another team or a zombie and you may be baffled as to why or how are they not dying after showering them with bullets but it also depends on the gun and how you approach to shoot them.Overall, it's a real fun game to play!

It's a good game. It keeps me entertain...finished campaign in less than 2 days; but has other good game mods, and online doesn't disappoint. Keep in mind that you'll be buying "the futuristic version of MW3" with a few perks...Recommend it, but not for full price.

Pros:FuturisticFunSame pros as other CoDsCons:Nothing majorIf your looking at buying this you are probably just interested in zombies and/or multiplayer if that's the case go ahead and buy! Its everything you most likely want/need in a FPS. I personally just bought it to play some multiplayer here and there and it satisfies my needs. I haven't and most likely won't the campaign(Do to lack of time) so can't give a review on that part of the game.

Best Zombies ever. By far the biggest maps. You can make Turbines. You can ride on a bus to a town or a farm. Here's my only complaint, not many gun choices from the mystery box. Now we should talk about the multiplayer. Again, only one complaint, you die to quickly. But they have very good maps. Lots of hiding spots, and just big enough for a good match up. Now, the campaign. The best campaign of COD. I never get tired of it. Very surprising. It was scary when I found out that Woods killed Mason's father. ( On accident! ) But theirs more! Graphics are perfect. I can't wait till Black Ops 3 comes out!

I've only played Black Ops I and MW3 previously. This game doesn't really feel like it is breaking new ground, but if you are ready for an update and some new maps well worth the purchase.The new Pick 10 load out is a good addition. Less guns than previous versions and the attachment unlock is obnoxious during your first prestige, but that is a short term problem for most gamers.

Bought this because my roommate moved and took his Xbox and games with him. I don't play it, personally, but my friends love playing zombies and going online and yelling at kids, so it was worth buying it for them. I was really surprised to find this game, used, for such a bargain. The promo code to download map packs inside the case even worked! A $15 dollar value, included in a used $15 dollar game!UPDATE: Roommate took COD: BLOPS 2 disc out of PS3 so he could watch The Grand Budapest Hotel on BluRay. Upon putting the disc back into the PS3 the following day, it was discovered that the precious game disc had been cracked and would not work. I'm not blaming my roommate whatsoever, just pointing out that the disc wasn't cracked before he watched his movie.UPDATE 2: Found a website selling used game discs and managed to find a disc-only copy of Black Ops 2 for under $10. Roommate is off the hook.

My new years resolution for 2016 was to watch more TV and play more video games. Sounds backwards right? Well, I needed a bit of excitement in my life, and this game certainly provided that. I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to scary movies, TV shows or videos. I'm not going to lie - this game is fun to play. However, there are some 'stressful' situations that made me question my purchase particularly when playing this game at night. I don't play online or have any fancy equipment, but for what it's worth it was a good purchase.

Well, I bought the game on midnight launch for Xbox. But had no time to play it. So I bought it for PS3 now in May, and lets just say I've been glued to my TV for the past few days. The game is a blast if you are good at it like myself. The campaign is pretty sweet! Multiplayer is all I really play though. If you are looking for something fun that you can play with friends, here you go. Buy it on retrolio because it is still $60 at stores.

This is my introduction into the series and I love it ! I have friends that raved about this for a while and I'm not much of a gamer, this has me hooked. We van get together online and play for hours. I recommend getting the Sony wireless headset. Price for the game and headset cannot be beat. Unless you like paying $150+ for other brands.

Great improvement on the last Call of Duty game. The graphics are on par with most games and the gameplay is superb. Very equilibrated weapons and outstanding multiplayer maps.The campaign is fun and a great continuation to the first game of the series.Zombie mode is always fun and challenging. A great opportunity to test your "survive the apocalypse" skills. My suggestion is you play with the family and see which member would survive!!

I like the fact that they took away the multiple, complex, confusing kill-streak rewards from MW3....It's simple now and it's based on points instead of kills only. The zombie maps are garbage - but the new grief scenario is coolI like how you can play custom zombie games that u can leave and join later....I also like how if the host of a zombie game leaves - then a new host is assigned so that the game doesn't just just end right there (It might be different for a custom game)

people on the internet are generally COD fan boys that play nothing but COD or COD hateers thats never played COD.i am a gamer who enjoys all sorts of games and decided to actually try out the COD games before putting in any judgement.my first COD was mw3 and even though people say it was terrible i genuinely enjoyed it and understood why it was popular.i preordered black ops 2 and hoped that it solved some problems that mw3 had, and i am satisfied with what i got.the single player portion is fairly dull in my opinion,run of the mil action fps with linear story line and mediocre characters. the multiplayer was the main reason i got the game and its fairly enjoyable besides some maps and lag issues.definitely one of the best CODs

I love this game for the multiplayer aspect. Getting my friends together (all of us at the same ability level) is loads of fun and we find ourselves playing for hours and hours (all of us are adults). However, playing online brings a problem because I am not nearly as good as the other players and struggle to get a kill. It quickly becomes frustrating, so I find myself sticking to Coop modes. I especially love the Zombies mode as the zombies are a little slower and easier to kill, plus the hectic feeling is a rush because I don't always know where the zombies are coming from. The single player mode is mediocre at best. I don't find the story interesting at all and there is far too much profanity in the game. Fortunately, there is an option to turn off the profanity which has the sound cutting out everytime they use profanity. It is sort of stupid, but at least I don't have to listen to the nonsensical language. I have only played the story for about an hour, but I doubt I will ever take the time to finish it because I really don't care about it.

I really liked the guns in the original black ops. It was gritty and the ai were almost the same. The game started off slow, but I eventually found myself engrossed in the amazing gameplay style. The futuristic weapons made things a little too easy, especially the auto target attachment. But everything else is extremely fun. For the first time in COD history, I'll be replaying the campaign to get the "better" endings. The multiplayer is alright. And the zombie maps are almost the same as the previous ones. The zombie maps right now aren't that great, but hopefully the upcoming dlc will fix that. It's a little bit different from the original black ops, but definitely better than mw3.

My husband and I are in our late 30s. We had been playing Far Cry 3 (which we loved) but all of my coworkers were playing Black Ops II. The multiplayer is beautiful. Customizing guns is great. I play about 10 hours a week. It has split screen, but my husband and I just take turns. Very bloody, so not appropriate for under 16, but I enjoy that stuff. Doesn't have the team aspect that Far Cry 3 encourages, but the game is so much more broad than Far Cry.Video games are like meditation for me. When you play you don't think of anything, very relaxing. Even when 10 year olds are killing you over and over. :)

Before I bought this game, I had reservations about this because of how Black Ops was. But decided to give this game a try based on how multiplayer looked during trailers. I fell in love with this game.The multiplayer is set up to where each loadout has a maximum of 10 options for customization. for example, 1 gun wIith 2 attachments, 3 perks, a secondary with 1 attachment, and two grenades is one loadout max. That is 10 total options. BUT you have the option to have only a primary weapon with potentials of 6 perks using wildcard perks (Extra options for more perks, or up to 3 attachments on primaries, etc.). This really revolutionizes the way loadouts are created making it much more equal I believe.As for the guns and unlocking them, everything has to be bought just like in the original Black Ops which I like as well. You have to purchase the killstreak rewards in order to use them with a max of three. But here's the twist, the rewards are based on xp instead of kills. So in Kill Confirmed, if you capture 3 dogtags, you get 300xp which equals a UAV. You didn't need to kill anyone in order to use it! It makes the games much more interesting because kill streaks are easier to achieve, but nothing is so disastrous that it makes the games unplayable. Try it out and see what you feel!This is all based on my opinion and person-by-person experience may vary depending on how they like Call of Duty by Treyarch vs. Activision. I would highly recommend this game to any Cal.

Black Ops 2 has completely redefined the almost boring COD franchise with the new Strike Force missions, ability to configure my own weapons loadout and the most important, the non-linear story-telling which is able to bring different endings.Black Ops 2 has expressed modern warfare better than Modern Warfare 3. Besides massive bombings, Black Ops 2 has featured cyber warfare, quantum computing which will be relevant by the year of 2025. It has brought us to the futuristic setting in 2025 with future weapons like quad drones, ASD (automated security drones) and Millimeter Scanner (able to see through walls) that are quite likely to exist in 2025. Also, the floating city in one of the missions is so grand that I believe it is being designed by a group of real architects.All these factors have made COD looked like a new FPS and I enjoyed it very much.

I'm just going to be short an fair with this review, and I'd also like to point out that the many reviewers who jump on COD games and call the terrible remakes of each other are the same people who toss out $60 without fail on the launch days of each game. Doesn't seem to make sense, but to each his own.Yes, this game plays just like every Call of Duty that has come before it, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It it's not broken, don't fix it. The campaign is fun and mixes things up a little bit with the strikeforce missions. The Zombies mode is, in my opinion, the best to date. The atmosphere of the levels in just better for a zombie apocalypse setting. The multiplayer is still fun and the maps are more creative looking this time around. I like the mixture of futuristic and pre-modern weaponry.Overall another solid addition the the COD franchise. I'm very glad I decided to purchase this game.

New weapons are great and the multiplayer maps are good. The single player campaign leaves a bit to be desired. Story line a bit convoluted and long. Some chapters are confusing and when you finally get close to figuring things out you are defeated. The Zombie missions are hard. All that said, the multiplayer is an improvement over the last edition.

All the other COD game's suffer from huge amounts of lag, insta-kills, choppiness, the list goes on forever. These problems will never be fixed. But Black Ops II is awesome. For me every game runs silky smooth. It puts slow people in the "Best" lobby with me maybe 1 out of 10 games, and only then that's because it's trying to find players that can beat my team and of coarse only lagged players can beat us, so we just back out after the loss and find a new lobby. The net code is at least 10 times better than all the other COD's plus you get great graphics and a large player database on the PS3, so if you like COD but hate how lag makes the older versions of COD unplayable, then you will love this game.

Personally I can't play 1st person games, which sucks cos I would love to play this. As a parent, it's awesome. Granted I haven't seen my boys in a few days and I can only imagine what their rooms look like, but at least they're getting along for once. (They're 17 & 15) At some point I'll have to launch a rescue mission to recover them...Will probably need at least a level 4 hazmat suit. They're not as angry anymore because this has shown them that, as a team working together they're almost unstoppable and that has carried over from the game to ever day life.

An interesting blend. It consists of everything I expected to see and a few things I didn't, the latter of which surprised me. I can't say the Strike Force missions were a good idea but at the very least, they're a departure from the norm. And the addition of player choice is definitely a plus. As for the rest, the high production values, Hollywood-esque presentation, relatively intriguing campaign, and a multiplayer that delivers on all counts, it's hard to say this year's CoD falls short. Some can say the multiplayer is too similar but hey, this is Call of Duty. The fans know what they like by now.

Once again the story line is a better action film than any action film (granted in part because you guys know how to combine the greatest scenes from action films). Total bull and unrealistic, but entertaining.Anyway, the gameplay on this is great. I actually love how they did this. The variety of mission types was great. That strike force stuff was really awesome. Really want to see more of this stuff. Weapons customization for the win. I like the variety of firearms though you guys can always expand.Also huge fan of how they took Reznov from World at War and spun this whole series out of it. Freaking awesome.I hope they keep making games that explore the conflicts of the cold war.If Activision reads this, it would also be cool if you guys could tell the broader story. I'm still waiting for a call of duty game where I'm playing as the Germans, Italians or Japanese shooting at the Americans. I really appreciated how you guys told Canadian and Polish war stories in Call of Duty 3. Keep doing that.One thing that really bugs me though is you always assign the wrong damn weapons to foreign armies. Why the hell aren't the Russians using Russian rifles? Screw people paying you guys to advertise their guns.... keep it legit. We overlook that it's all ridiculously over the top, but at least get the guns right you noobs.

Look- You have multiple guns. You kill people online in a video game. It's fun, just like all the other video games where you kill people online using guns.The difference here is your Pick 10 system-- pretty slick idea, works well to keep the game balanced. Prestiging has also become nearly worthless. League is a great touch for serious players, but the scoring system should be more clear.Overall, this game lost two points for not adding enough originality. Zombies is becoming an overexploited genre and unless they change it more to be a campaign adventure, it will lose its' appeal.

After the disaster that was both Battlefield 3 and MW3 I was skeptic about getting another one of these FPS games. This time I'm glad I purchased this game out of an impulse(I have all of them since COD 1).This game is an improvement over Black Ops I which was a very fun game and very well supported by the developers. The ten point system for MP custom classes and the MW3 scorestreak implementation are a step forward although the ability to have independent scorestreaks per class is still missing.Overall the maps are fun (with the exception of Hijacked, but apparently everybody loves it) and well designed, the guns are balanced, the "Road to Diamond" per gun type is a fruitful endeavor and the matchmaking it's mostly well implemented.Although, this is the COD where your connection affect you the most of all previous CODs, when you are host you destroy everything and when you are not you have to do the usual hard work to kill but sometimes it gets really one sided towards the host.In conclusion, I haven't had that much fun since the days of Bad Company 2 and BLOPS 1, I'm a casual gamer but I can say I already have my Diamond SMGs, my Season Pass ready for the DLCs and surprisingly a very decent 1.9 K/D @ 335SPM.

Call of duty black ops 2 is a fun game. For Those that are just starting out in the call of duty series, there's probably a big learning curve. Most everyone I know that plays Call of duty, plays it for multiplayer. The campaign can be a fun romp on lower difficulty levels and only when multiplayer servers and networks are down.Speaking of multiplayer issues, those of us that preordered Black ops 2, got to play it on release day and most of last week. Not to mention the preorders got the bonus Nuketown 2025 map. At the start We were welcome to numerous issues. The servers were down, couldn't connect to game session, matchmaking issues trying to balance teams, constantly being kicked out of matches, Having your account randomly be banned and having your PS3 lock up and freeze. Since launch day most issues have improved so they've got that going for them. I would expect that with such a big launch most of those issues would be handled in the beta testing. Nope we are sold a broken product. This wouldn't work in the automobile industry.At least we have the Nuketown 2025 map right? Wrong! We got to play it for a week before they digitally scrubbed it from our systems. Sure this caused an uproar and they gave it back to us but only on a limited use basis. If any of their other maps were as good as Nuketown we wouldn't be causing an uproar over losing it. What do they think would happen if any other company decided to after one week, pull any preorder bonuses they offered whether.

I just want to make a quick review,CAMPAIGN: The story is good but not outstanding its like is the same tipe of missions that you have to go all around the place and kill the enemies, just in some missions it change because you fly with special costumes, you ride a horse, you control an aircraft but nothing else.MULTIPLAYER: Playing online is the best experience that you can have, you go to level 55 and you can prestige again and again up to Master Prestige and this must take a lot of days, maybe months but its awesome because the weapons, wildcards, perks and all the things are just a little futurist so its a new experience.ZOMBIES: Its really funny to play zombies, you can choose playing by two teams one against the other or like cooperative but you must know how to make the Pack-a-punch and those tipe of things.

This game is one of the better Call of Duty games in the post - Modern Warfare 2 world. The multiplayer is rock solid, the pick ten system is a huge improvement over the mess of MW3 and ESPECIALLY Ghosts. The dynamic campaign is a blast, and I found it to be the perfect length for a call of duty game. Overall, it is one of the first call of duty games I would consider great. A must buy for a fan of the series and especially if you are just getting in to it.

This is the first CoD I've enjoyed playing the Multiplayer since Call of Duty 4. If you enjoy fast paced shooters with minimal strategy required, this is for you. Great looking, fast paced. Tons of re-playability with the prestige mode offered. The campaign is solid, with story impacting effects based on your actions. Mostly balanced with a decent community of players as far as gameplay. Just remember to hit that mute button when you join a match online, the voice chat is unbearable to listen to.

Ignore people who want to gripe about little things - this game is amazing. The game play is smooth and fun, the storyline is interesting,the multi-player is better than ever and zombies . . . oh my god.PS3 seems to have resolved any freezing issues that people (like myself) experienced when the games first came out.The online matchmaking for multi-player is faster than ever and I rarely wait more than two minutes to find a game. The expanded game modes are excellent, and I have not even begun League Play yet (I have a baby taking up my time). A big improvement is that it is no longer killstreak rewards, but poinstreaks, which reqards people who shoot down UAVs and hold down Hardpoints. Seems like small change, but it is huge for people like me who play the strategy game modes and do not rack up 40 kills per game.The storyline is great, but somewhat confusing as you move back and forth in time.Anyone worried about this being "too futuristic" - don't worry about it. Some of the sights on some of the guns are out of control (like the one that finds enemies through walls) but you can choose to use or not use them and not be at a significant disadvantage.

Love the COD franchise, but have to admit I've never played any other shooter franchises on PS3. I found this COD2 the most difficult to adjust to for play online, but once a friend advised me on better class setups I was good to go (best class setups were difficult for me to figure out compared to the last three COD games). Have the extra map packs and enjoy those too, although I wish they weren't so expensive - the game is expensive enough. Zombies has been lots of fun online. Perhaps I'm a nerd, but I have the graphic content set to low and it makes the game more enjoyable for me.

This was purchased as a Christmas present for our son. We already owned this game so we knew all about it. Our son has his own PS3 and wanted his own Black Ops II game so that he could play against his Dad and his friends. This was an excellent gift for him. There has not been a day go by that this game is not played, matter of fact, it is the most played game in our household.

My son is 9 and LOVES this game. Literally if he could play it 24-7 he would. My only aggravation is when he plays others online. I understand that there are grown folks that play this, but the language they use is absurd. I wish there was a way to only join games of people your own age so that the vulgarity would be taken down alot.

Treyarch and activision have really perfected the art of spitting out these games every year, but this one starts to feel like their milking it. I loved the story mode, but did notice that the graphics varied widely as other reviewers noted. The futuristic parts were very fun and creative, but online multiplayer is where I remove a star. Simply put, if you had a high K:D ratio in the previous COD games the new online system might not agree with you. It seems that Treyarch has evened the playing field to accommodate "NOOBS" by placing players with better stats onto teams that couldn't get a positive score to save their lives.

In my honest opinion, it's better than MW3, less hackers/modders, less clipping through walls, the sniper rifles have less sway, but still pack a punch, and the pistols are way better.I will have to compare it to BO, MW AW, and BO3.Maps are exciting too!

I've played several COD games on PS3. This game is definitely an improvement over them. Like I said, zombies is excellent, and I would buy if it was a stand alone game.That being said, as a whole, this game is a disappointment. Graphically, it is basically all the older versions of the game being regurgitated, slapped together, and trying to pushed as a new game. If you've played COD before, this game is pretty much the same.The campaign is a little different in that it has a few different endings. Not very different, but it was enough to make me appreciate that they're trying something new for a change.Glitchy, glitchy, GLITCHY. I expect it'll be smoothed out within a few updates, but you've been forewarned.Should you buy it?If you like zombies, then yes.If you're expecting a brand new gaming experience, then no.

As a longtime Black Ops player, at first I was constantly questioning if BLOPS II was as good as the original. It actually took a couple of days of playing and seeing what kind of challenges you can do and what kind of upgrades you can get for your guns, and really starting to appreciate the map designs, I can now positively say that this game is much better than BLOPS I.It's a must-own whether you have PS3 or XBOX

To a time before Battle Royale, when people would spend countless hours playing games for fun and camaraderie. Black ops 2 was a great game. A piece of history really. I severely miss it. At this point if you're looking at purchasing the game, the only purpose it would serve is to stir up some nostalgia. If you weren't there and online when it was released, move on and go buy some apex legends or something. This game was for the golden age of gamers baby!

Since there are so many reviews of this game I won't go too in depth but I've had both the Xbox 360 version and PS3 version and made it to prestige master on both because this is one of the few COD's I've liked this much that I can invest the time into it and not get sick of it. Without a doubt it's the best looking COD created so far and has the best campaign mode yet with an incredible amount of replayability due to the many different ways the dynamic story can go. I don't care for zombies that much but it can be fun if you play with friends or other people online that are good at it. The Modern Warfare campaign is very good in its own way and those games are always fun to go back and play now and then but for whatever reason I've loved the Black Ops series more and hope Black Ops 3 will be made and find a way to continue the same story or be related to the first one somehow. Nearly all the maps on this game are very enjoyable, I love the freedom to create your own playercards and emblems, and gun customization is great. It's a whole lot packed into a game that can be bought cheap now and still has a huge amount of player traffic so there's fun to be had in this title for years to come.

Campaign: much better than black ops 1 with cutmized weapons. Choice that bases the story on what you choose. 8/10Mulitplayer: I was worried that the multiplayer would be to futuristic and very hard to get used to. But i Was very surprised by the fact that it ius very present-day warefare, killsteaks and some weapon attachments are furturistic but noso much in in awy that it ruins the game. 9/10.Zombies: Never have cared much about zombies but if you liked the zombies in black ops 1 then you'll love this one. Improved but still not to my liking. 4/10

i'm not going to compare to first game, modern warfare, battlefield of any other game here. love the multiplayer, can play with friend or family,they can sign in on thier own i.d. and level up on his/her own. the "pick 10" option with loadouts is interesting, always got you wishing there eleven choices.....
