I don’t just turn on the game once to play it and then write a review… There are many games I have purchased on retrolio because I am still not sure how I will rate them. There is no sense writing a review if there is nothing of substance in it, right?Wow! This game is fun! It is challenging without being impossible… I am a few hours into the game and don’t know where the end is. I like the play control, it doesn’t play the simulation games, it has it’s own feel, and once you get it is fantastic! I’m not sure how you could not like this game! Just becasue I think it is such a hit, I just bought a bunch of other ones… I bought the first one for the gamecube, the 3rd one for PS2 and Burnout Revenge for PS2… I’m not sure that any of them will be bad… I’m expecting them all to be a great as this one. The graphics are great and the game is just overall fun to play.I guess my only complaint is that you can’t play two player and one person be the cop, the one person can in fact be the cop, but they are just racing in a cop car, they aren’t chasing you as a cop… kind of funny that you can turn on and off the siren, but not for any reason, it is just the same button as the horn… They should have made it like Need for speed where one player can be the cop and the other one the racer, but I am not that upset b/c if that is what I want I just play need for speed hot pursuit.I think I payed less than $10 for this game! I’d easily have payed over $50 for it! What a stea.
This is the best racing game I have ever played! the graphics are cutting edge (at least for gamecube), the cars are all new, there are more events, including pursuit (where you get to be a police car), and crash (where you see how much money in damage you can rack up). This isnt one of the racing games where after a couple of hours, you have everything, this takes much longer!Buy this game!!!
The item works perfectly. Thanks
AMAZING! Funnily enough there is “educational value” in this rip-roaring, explosive, cool game. That message is: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DRIVING A REAL CAR!!!!! But seriously, this rocks! Crashes are awesome; gameplay is awesome. There’s just one thing I have to say: I know this review is short and not as detailed as others and that is because if I said everything else it would be what everyone else has said.BUY THIS GAME!!!!
I have loved this game since I played it on PS2. That said, the Cube version is even more eye popping and exciting!!!The turbo boosts feature is awesome. To catch up with the leader you wind up in a frenzied havoc ridden charge through busy intersections and oncoming traffic. Better yet is the fact that even though you frequently travel at lightning fast speeds you miss buying the farm, by somehow managing to scrape by and swerve past other cars and obstacles within inches of your life. Until you master the controls, which are challenging but smooth and pretty easy to learn, you’ll cause all types of damage both to yourself and the breath-taking surroundings. Just listen for the crunching sounds, blasting horns and scraping metal, so realistic, you would think that it was produced in hollywood. The game excels in the area of crashing. There’s minigames where the object is to cause as much monetaryu damage as possible. My kids and I played that for hours, even the youngest, or worst of drivers have an awesome time with this. Multi-player is awesome as well. The computer controlled cars are out to get you, but in the name of keeping it real, do occassionally wipe themselves out when they’re under pressure. The game gets harder when it time to win championships, but stay the course and soon you shall soar like n eagle. Unlock hidden cars and discover more fun yet.If you have a cube and like racing and or smash em up games, YOU MUST OWN BURNOUT II. You’ll thank me.Mike
Awesome game, I’ve collected the whole burnout saga.
I love this game. Just saw some high res videos at IGN.com and they rock!Great price as well !!
Burnout2 is better then Burnout1 and drives better too it is very fast but unforgiving if you hit something but plays very good.
It’s just crazy! Probably that summarizes this freakin’ funny game, specifically for the GC, adding one more game to the few car games for such console. I got this game for such a year ago, but ’til now I bring my review.Burnout 2 is, for me, a “how NOT to drive” game, it’s sth like “give it all you got and race, anywhere, no matter what happens…”. You’ll later see how crashes come and go and so on. I like the championship mode and the crash mode (I remember my brother laughing about a fatal crash that looked like a “car rain”, some trucks and buses flipped, and my car very smashed; such let me won the gold inmediately, I’ll never forget it…).Sound FX are greatBGM is ok (but it’s hardly heard)Gameplay and controller config are, well, the issue is that if I could shift with L and R…, but no way (better use AT, although I mostly use MT).Graphics are decent, fast-paced.Visual FX are, well, like someone said, so much time wasted watching a crash (in race mode), also I was a little disapponted that there’s no map and poor HUD, but well-sync.Multiplayer… Why just TWO simultaneous human players?Boost bar, hard to fill it, and you can use it only when full, but no problem. Just try not to crash whie doing so or while using it.The game uses 5 blocks of your Memory Card. Nothing such important, for some people…So is why I give a 4/5. I strongly recommend it to be purchased (if you rent it, I bet you would wish it for your own). And if you’re a fan of Burnout, find those newer.
The first time I laid eyes on this game in action, I was completely blown away. There isn’t anything else like it out there. For sheer fun, this is the game. Great graphics, realistic weather, realistic physics. The game has a slight arcade look, so it isn’t 100% realistic in its appearance, but I say "Who cares?" The playability and replayability of this game speak for themselves. There is one reviewer out there that said he conquered all "three" circuits in 20 minutes. I wonder if he was playing the same game. The crashes are unbelievable, and addictive. The recing is absolutely the best. If you want a game that is really fun, and allows you to do illegal things with your car in the safety of your own home, this is it!
