Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster — somehow familiar, yet still quite different from anything ever seen — has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city. It is a Big Sister, new denizens of Rapture who were once one of the forgotten little girls known as Little Sisters, known to inhabit the city’s dank halls. No longer a pawn used to harvest ADAM, the dangerously powerful gene-altering lifeblood of Rapture, from the bodies of others and in turn run the risk of being harvested herself, the Big Sister is now the fastest and most powerful thing in Rapture. Play as the original the Big Daddy as you harness raw strength to battle Rapture’s most feared denizens as you battle powerful new enemies.

After I fell in love with the first Bioshock, I just knew that I needed to find and play more of them. I honestly love the second one even more than the first one. There are new splicers, new and improved weapons, and more abilities and plasmids available than ever! The graphics are more refined than those in the first game, and you get to play from the unique perspective of a Big Daddy too. Be sure to try yourself since Rapture and its inhabitants are crazier than ever. Don’t miss out on all the fun in the single player and multiplayer modes. :)
i like playing this game.. i played the first and now this one so yeah im getting the 3rd bioshock as well an i hope they make a 4th give this game an if you did play the first an have not played this one yet your in for a awasome gameplay..
It’s almost difficult reviewing Bioshock 2 on its own merits given its similarity to the first game. The resemblance between the two isn’t necessarily a bad thing though seeing as how solid and polished the original Bioshock was. But if you’ve played through the first game you have a pretty good idea what to expect here-sadistic splicers, upgradeable weapons, an arsenal of plasmids, unique gene tonics and a ubiquitous dictator-type figure. Luckily though, Bioshock 2 has a few new tricks to add to the familiar mix as well-even if they are somewhat minor. The main additions to the game are two-fold. First are the Big Sisters, screeching “boss” type figures that attack like banshees when you’ve rounded up all the little sisters in the area. They’re not really that difficult (especially with any metal piercing weapons you have on hand) but the fights are exciting and fun none the less. The second change to the game comes in the form of Adam collection. You still kill Big Daddy’s like in the original game (an entirely more satisfying experience than should be allowed) and collect little sisters, but now there are a few more steps involved for maximum Adam collection. These extra steps get a bit repetitive and tedious after a while though especially when you’re several levels deep in the game. I groaned a bit toward the end when I had to round up yet another trio of Little Sisters-knowing all the tedious steps involved in the process. I suppose you could add the ability.
I think this game is amazing. Graphics are great, Gameplay is great! It’s better than the first one because they tweaked some of the combat things and especially the security cameras!! OMG i would get so pissed when one would see me and I’d have a whole minute to run for my life of shoot all the respawning bots that chase you! (Until you get the tonic that shortens it). But altogether, I LOVE THIS GAME. great replayability. I will play it again. Definitely recommended.
Ah, yes, Bioshock 2, one of my favorite games that NEVER CAME IN THE MAIL (disappointment!!) -_- I decided I wanted to play it again after beating it once on my friend’s disc. Bioshock 2 is a ridiculous game itself, it makes you want to play it, but it gets really frustrating sometimes. I won’t lie, there are a lot of glitches. One time I got stuck in a wall and then I died! There is a lot of character development, just, I wish you knew who you were under that Big Daddy suit… I love how you grow a relationship with your little sister, Eleanor. This game is serious, traumatic, and dramatic. Also, this game is very flashy (color wise), so, I recommend that people with seizure disorders don’t play this. So, overall Bioshock 2 is a great game, with one flaw that you can get by. I rate this 5 stars for fun and five stars for the game itself.
Great game. Can’t believe it took me this long to start getting into this series!
I gave up the hope of ‘not dying’ into the second phase of this game. I also gave up the hope for an intricate story line about that time too. This is a very superficial story which would have rocked the gaming world in, say, 2003, but I can only laud it as an adequate distraction today. The likability of it rests on the novel environment and bizarrely thorough retro-style. I’ll admit, I don’t get see a lot of games with phonographs. But once a player gets over the initial thrill of turning someone into a block of ice and then exploding them with a drill that was surgically attached to your left arm, the innovation ends. It also lacks a sense of humor. I don’t know why this was such an issue for me, but it was. For something with such a macabre style, I expected the cleverness to manifest in a good joke. Nada.On the pro side, the map feature and hints stopped me from becoming frustrated and helped me keep my self respect in front of the little sister characters by not making me run in a mad dash circle for two hours looking for a certain trigger event. I appreciate this. The mini games are winnable and less frustrating then those elsewhere and the animations showing the gene changes are cool.Nearly anyone will enjoy a play-through of Bioshock 1 and 2, but the reason it’s available so cheaply is that there is zero replay value in it. You will see the same teddy bears, the same big sisters, and hear the same noises over and over again with one play, why do it again?
My original review was taken down for some reason, so I’ll review it again. My fiance has been waiting on this game for a long time, and I finally ordered it so he could show it to me. He was so thrilled and the disc was in great condition. Couldn’t be happier.
Excellent ,hours of fun !
The sequel to Bioshock is set 10 years after the end of the first game in which you are still the same character. There are a few notable differences between the first and the second. You are a Big Daddy the entire game this time through. There are still other Big Daddies, but now some of the Little Sisters are now Big Sisters and are just like the Big Daddies, but much faster and more deadly. All of your weapons are generally larger and cause more damage because you now take on swarms of splicers instead of just a few at a time. Here are the main points to the game, both good and bad.Positives:-The same combat engine is used, with a few mods-Almost all the weapons are new and upgraded-Controls are tight and intuitive as was the original-Story is a little more psychological and deeper-Multiplayer mode was added-New gadgets prevent many of the old problemsNegatives:-Graphics now look antiquated and differ little from the original game-Enemies are essentially identical to the first-Some weapons are almost never used due to ineffectiveness-General game setup is a carbon copy of BioshockGameplay: 8 of 10For the most part, everything about the shooter part of the game was carried over to the second game. It was very good then and is still good now. The controls are pretty simple and now you’re able to have your plasmid hand up at the same time as you’re shooting. My only problem is: I believe there are even fewer types of splicers in this game than the first. Because of this, lat.
