Ending was rushed and confusing
This book is so incredibly special to me and Simon, Baz, and Penny end up taking a road trip across America, and also Baz is development his character. .. with of new people [ ?] you have read or listen to. Wayward Son is absolutely the perfect follow-up to Carry On …. but where is book 3 ?book was just an endless roller coaster of emotions on top of bunches of things happening one after another.I got book one again . to make fan book.
This is literally my new favorite book series! Her dialogue absolutely kills me every time! I felt like it perfectly captured all the ways an American road trip can be absolutely magical and a fantastic disaster.
It’s such a cool book
I was very late to the Carry On party, so I only had to wait about 24 hours to read Wayward Son. I can understand the frustration in some of the other reviews, especially those that waited years for this to come out. This is not exactly a happy book. Simon is suffering from depression with a side of PTSD and a generous helping of fear of intimacy that mostly carries through the whole book and creates a lot of tension. There are probably three pages total worth of intimacy between Simon and Baz, which is very frustrating. (full disclosure: I would gladly read 250 pages worth of make outs and cuddles and professions of love. Let my boys be happy, Rainbow!!!)The plot is much more linear and less complex than the first book, with the characters getting into a series of mostly unrelated mini-adventures. The story is still interesting and fun, and it’s wonderful spending time in the heads of these excellent characters, even if they are in pain. And yes, there is not exactly a clear character growth at the end. And yes, there is a big cliff hanger (though the main plot of this story is pretty wrapped up). All this torture I’m willing to forgive as long as we don’t have to wait four years for the next one. Because let’s be honest, if you read Carry On and you can stand not spending more time with Baz and Simon, you are stronger than I am.
Was so excited for this book that I preordered in March. The story is amazing and I’m all here for the plot line, definitely give this book a read
Love it. great book to read
Super good and it arrived in perfect conditions
My daughter has loved this series. The item came in great condition.
This book has an incredible plot…but the plot though it dominates the book isn’t the best part about it. The best part about it is how the plot is being used to unravel the characters feelings towards life and each other…I really a 300 pages book where Baz and Simon just sit down and talk about their relationship.Bonus: SHEPARD 💜🔥
