I saw part 1 so I knew it was scary but so was part 2. Steven King showed up in his usual cameo too.
Chapter 1 was really horrifying. This is slightly less so, but I liked it quite a bit. King’s tales of friendship under stress are always heartwarming – while your heart is simultaneously being frozen with fear. Nice combo!
Amazing movie! yes, it was long but that was how it was supposed to be. I loved both parts of the IT movie the same! definitely recommend.
Great addition to the story line. It was long but the suspense of the story kept you awake and wanting more.
I am an avid horror movie fan, I have loved them since I was a kid. To me they did amazing, I have seen the original, the first chapter and have read the book. To me this is classic horror I hated Saw, I loved the conjuring. I jumped twice in this film for the first time in years. I liked the ending it felt like growth for the characters. Do yourself a favor and leave the original in it’s own category and do not focus so much on comparisons.
“It Chapter 2” picks up where the first left off, with the seven members of the Losers’ Club now all grown up and living far away. Except for Adult Mike (Isaiah Mustafa) who still lives in Derry, taking over as town historian from Young Ben, and who summons his friends (citing the pact they made at the end of the first movie) after a hate crime reveals that Pennywise the Evil Clown (Bill Skarsgard) is back. The Losers have enjoyed success, though they have foggy memories of such a traumatic youthful experience. Jessica Chastain, (Adult Beverly) is now a fashion designer, though her husband is abusive. James McAvoy, (Adult Bill), is a novelist, who everyone agrees, can’t write a decent ending to save his life. Bill Hader, (Adult Richie), is a caustic standup comedian. Jay Ryan, (Adult Ben), has shed his baby fat and is now an architect (and still nursing a crush on Jessica). James Ransone (Adult Eddie) has the perfect job in risk assessment, while Andy Bean (Adult Stanley) seems to have a lovely family, though his day job is ambiguous. None are thrilled to receive Mike’s call, but they all (except one) arrive at a Chinese restaurant to honor the pact. That’s when things get creepy, and it’s plain that Pennywise is back to torment the Losers. So scarcely are they back, when each starts experiencing trauma, and it’s also clear that Henry Bowers has escaped his mental institution because what horror movie would be complete without an escaped mental patient and is roaming around wi.
One of the most anticipated movies of the year has been director Andy Muschietti’s IT CHAPTER TWO, the second part of the his adaptation of Stephen King’s much beloved and mammoth 1986 novel, which had been adapted before in a much beloved TV miniseries in 1990. The first film, released two years ago, was both a box office and critical success, more than that, this new big screen version of King’s story resonated with audiences, drawn to the story of a group of misfit teen agers, who dub themselves The Losers, and who must confront an ancient evil entity haunting their small Maine town of Derry in the summer of 1989; this entity, who presents himself to the world as a malevolent clown named Pennywise, lives on fear, especially the fear of children. It’s a great coming of age story, with some of King’s most vividly realized characters, not mention one of his most terrifying villains. This second film, which centers around Bill, Beverly, Richie, Mike, Ben, Eddie, and Stan – The Losers – 27 years later and now adults, who must now return to Derry and take on a resurrected Pennywise. And it has problems, not the least of which is the nearly three hour running time, but more to the point, a story line that is overstuffed with a lot of business. These were same problems with King’s thousand plus page novel, which I have always thought would have worked better as two books. The movie does get off to a strong start, where we are introduced to the adult counterparts to the kids we met.
The cast was amazing!!! The acting was great. They did a great job revamping the original but it was def less scary than the 1st movie.
Got the movie for the kids. I read the original books by Stephen King. This movie doesn’t do the story any justice. Also, I was really bummed how heavily influenced the movie was by “stranger thingsâ€. Adult me 👎🼠My kids ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
