classic memories of playing as a kid
At first when I looked at this game and read the reviews it looked really bad. I thought, im not even going to rent this game and i didnt. But when my friend did i went over to his house and we played it. It was one of the best games i have ever played. It was halarious and great fun. The create a player isnt that great but it doesnt pull the game down. There are so many things you can do. You can go from throwing things and hitting people with car doors or getting burnt or set on fire by a welder. You can jump off water towers and throw people into fish tanks and then for fun throw the fish at them. In each level their are tons of weapons and can be used in different ways. The blood in this game is really fake but looks good.
I was proud of myself with my restraint. I wanted to buy this game the day it came out, but having been burned on many wrestling titles I decided to rent the game from the local video store. Good thing I did because I’m sure I’ll be tired of it before my 5 days is up.The controls feel slopy. The computer cheeses like crazy (mostly by repeatedly throwing things that you can’t dodge). And there isn’t much selection in the way of characters.On the up side, this game is a very origional twist on wrestling. I can’t say I agree with the real BYW, but in video game form, I can’t really see the harm in it. The enviroments are very interactive. I was surprised when I was able to set a matress on fire and burn my oponnent.Though this is not a great game there is promise. The Smackdown series started off rather weak, but now it is the best of the wrestling titles.
Being a hardcore WWE and backyard wrestling fan, I decided to rent this game. I must say this is probably the worst non-wwe game on the market today. The worst rap group in the world, ICP had alot of say in this game. Most of the players in the game arent even backyard wrestlers. Putting ICP in the game and the Twisted guy in the game was absolutely horrible. Where are guys like Creeping Death, and all the other guys in the Backyard Wrestling dvd series? The gameplay is the worst by far. You have to just press a bunch of buttons and they will do a move. To actually call this a backyard wrestling video game is a crime. The best quality this game has is the audio with the exception of the ICP songs. Let’s just hope that when BYW 2 comes out, they will improve it.

This is a good wrestling game, it’s worth buying just so you can wrestle someone else in vs. mode. For this price – get it!
