You gotta hang in there. The first level or two is kinda boring. But once you start getting cool weapons and traveling around the planet its great nostalgia to the movie Aliens.
I bought this game on retrolio for $31.82. So far I am on the second mission in the campaign, and I would have to say that for the price this game is a great buy. It is fairly challenging, and it is mainly what I expected out of the game; a solid shooter type game. I looked at some of the other reviews, and I do not know all the intricate technicalities of the Aliens Universe, and yes maybe some of them are off a bit in this game, but for those gamers who do not mind that this game is fun and keeps you interested.
Although not great by any means I have definitely enjoyed the single player campaign as well as multi-player. People bash this to no end but many of my friends enjoy this title as well and take it for what it is.And at this point a rental or for the reduced price (15 used?) I feel its well worth it.

I think this game deserves a better rating than some people are giving it. I am a huge aliens fan and this game brings that action to you, not to much overkill on anything. Nice feel on different array of firepower, and game plays smoothly without a lot of glitches
Before I give my review, I want to give a bit of background on my credentials for reviewing this game:I am a veteran gamer with 70k Xbox gamer points. Since receiving the game on release day I have played through the campaign entirely on hardened, partially on “ultimate badass”, and put in significant time in the multiplayer. The immediate flood of bad reviews after release I believe was partially due to the reviewers not having sufficiently played the game enough to adequately review it or being simply turned off by the dated graphics.I am also not in any way affiliated with any of the companies that developed this game, as I know there are mercenary reviewers out there that write positive reviews professionally. Personally, I rarely take the time to review a product or game unless I feel strongly about it, and the flood of bad reviews I feel needed to be answered with a balanced and thoughtful response, so here it is.I will also say that I have been waiting for this game for nearly three years, and pre-ordered it over two years ago, so I had high expectations going into it. With that said, I believe that it was worth the wait, and here is why.First, let me address perhaps the biggest complaint: graphics. The graphics are dated to be sure, they are rather blocky and the first two missions aboard the Sulaco really highlight this disadvantage. The graphics are not terrible, they are just dated and might shock players more accustomed to games like Gears of War or Dead Space. At.

I’m sure the boys are getting all they wanted with this game but all I can say is "Great service, as usual, retrolio!".
