Pretty solid FPS on the PlayStation. As a kid I never knew of this game. I am glad I decided to get it now. Only downside is the controls are funky compared to modern games but hey that’s alright!
Alien Trilogy for PSOne is 30 levels of acid bleeding insanity!!STORY:————The battle begins in the opening cut-scene where Ripley and the marines arrive at Hadley’s Hope on LV-426 and are attacked by the xenomorph. In this version of the story, EVERYONE but you and Bishop (Who is stationed in the APC vehicle outside of the colony) are wiped out in the first big bug attack, leaving Ripley to complete the search and destroy mission by herself. And so the game begins.GAMEPLAY:——————This game is very reminiscent of the Doom games, also being a moody, atmospheric First-Person shooter with slightly better graphics and a scarier, heart pounding soundtrack that’s both eerie and upbeat. The way the game is set up is that Bishop sends you mission text objectives at the beginning of each level, and you play through the 3 major settings of the Alien Trilogy films, in the order of 1. The LV-426 Colony (Aliens), 2. The Prison (Alien 3) and then finally, The Bone Ship (Alien). Each area has 10 levels and TONS of enemies, ranging from the Xenomorph, facehuggers, chestbursters, company combat synthetics, corrupt company security guards, dog xenomorph – young & adult variants (Alien 3) and of course, 3 queen aliens, which you’ll face on the 10th level of each area. You also play as the bald Ellen Ripley from Alien 3, but she’s wearing her outfit from Aliens, which I thought was a bit weird. But alright, you only do see Ripley in the cutscenes or the death scenes any way. But.
This is an awesome older first-person-shooter game. It’s intense with lots of action. Learn your hall ways in this game and just shoot the !@#$ out of the aliens.
Really lived this game when I was a kid. Dont know why people complain about the draw distance in front of them. It adds an unknown feeling to the game where you wont know what you’re running into until it starts coming after you. And to the people to complain its the same thing every level: Its a FPS, most FPS’s have nothing more than running and gunning. There are tasks in this game you have to complete before moving onto the next level so to say its just shooting is just idiotic criticism. Nostalgic games like this always seem to get people who never played it when it came out and then come to play it in 2018 and go “Man this sucks.”. Still better than the garbage they make today where they rely on pretty graphics over in depth gameplay.
Alien Trilogy came out as a first person shooter. The developers really wanted to bring the audience more realistic feel in your movement, atmosphere, enemies and weapons. They brought awesome music, graphics, and enemies. The controls are very different, but they work well. Some games are just fun, entertaining, productive. That’s the kind of experience you’ll have if you sit down and actually play this title. It’s very grim from the beginning to the very end, definitely worth beating. I highly recommend buying this if you have thought about playing a game set in the Alien franchise. Enjoy.
This Game is freakin Awesome!!!!!! A Doom Style First person Shooter!!!!!!!!!!!!BRILLIANT!!!! You get all the awesome factors of the movies in a pretty massive PS-1 Game. I must admit i havent played it In years without the "god" codes but i can say that with those codes there’s allot of fun to be had. But without this is a pretty difficult game, not that that’s a bad thing but for some game play could get a little tiresome with the massive levels and just overall dark & maze like layouts. For fans of the Alien movies it’s a Win. For Doom/FPS fans it’s a WIN. All in All It’s awesome.
For serious fans who still have early playstation formats, this game is quite exciting. It cannot be compared to the accomplishments of today’s standards in video games, however it convinces me that retaining original playstation and playstation 2 formats are still woth it, when it comes to games like these. Thank you so much and happy hunting in LV426!!!
This is a great game. Yeah, the graphics are a bit creaky, but the atmospheric soundtrack more than makes up for that. My son and I have been playing this game together as a tag team for more than two years. It will fill you with anxiety, make your pulse pound, and–yes–it may even make you cry for your mama. If you liked the 1st two films, this is the closest you’ll get to LV-426 (in this lifetime anyway) . . . at least until an upgraded version comes along. But try to snare a cluebook as well. We’ve been stuck at level 3/3 for about 3 months!
Cool
Great old school classic shooter very dark in some levels still a great game even if the d pad controls are weird.
