One very distinct memory comes out to mind when I think of Abadox.I swear for the first three or four months of it's release...had a lot of commercial airplay on NBC's Saturday Morning Cartoons.I recall because every time it played it just made me more ravenous to be gifted it for a birthday or Christmas present.I played it like crazy and had it until the Nintendo was discontinued and thought we couldn't enjoy these games anymore.Or so I thought.Anyways glad to have the game again to enjoy.Another reviewer covered Abadox quite well so I'll skip that part and boil down to a good argument....Was Abadox better than LifeForce? In my opinion...yes it was.Now I'll admit there are facsimiles of influence seen in Abadox derived from LifeForce. Here's a few things to mention to mention about the differentials though...*Level Design:Have to give to Abadox they struck to a specific formula bearing just about every level as a bio-organic setting to fit the plot.LifeForce tends to vary in it's levels theme so it's all about preference.*Mid-Bosses/Bosses:Once again Abadox's bio-organic freaky life form bosses I just liked more to the game's theme.LifeForce's bosses start out in a similar vein with a human brain bearing tentacles. Then the variety alters from a dragon, king tut's burial mask,to a robot spaceship seen in Gradius I,II,and V.*The Ending 'Twist':Oh yeah most definitely borrowed from LifeForce.BUT through Abadox taking the horizontal approach rather than vertical for this 'Twist'.On.

Not there item pictured. Had two drill holes in the back, and took a few tries to get it going. It does work though, perfectly. Label is on good shape. Would have been nice to know about the holes on the back, but hey. For the price? Great buy.

This game is pretty close to section Z, but with different level layout and monster types. Very similar game play. Great graphics (for the time) and excellent monster design/power ups.

Adadox is a solid 8 bit Nintendo game even though it's similar to Lifeforce, Metroid and Contra. It's a Japanese video game released by Milton Bradley. During the Summer of 1992, my baby brother got a brand new copy of Abadox as a birthday gift. The game takes place in the future in a galactic setting. Officer Nazal has to rescue Princess Maria and destroy a giant, malevolent parasitic lifeform that has crippled the military. The music and graphics are neat for an 8-bit game. It's creepy seeing human eyes, mouths and arms pop out of walls! The mellow music in the end credits sounds similar to Elmer Bernstein's work. Give Abadox a chance if you enjoy video games.
