I want to say that I really liked this book hence the 4 stars instead on 3 stars. Why not give it 5 stars if I really liked it, you ask? Well I just cannot stop thinking of all the similarities between this book/series with Sarah J Maas’ A Court of Throne & Roses series. There are soooo many! Spoilers from previous books coming in321For example: male character being bound to a sadistic woman, main character dying and being resurrected, “glowing” intimate scene. I could honestly go on but I think y’all get the point. However there is enough diversity that I don’t see it as plagiarism, I think the author was just extremely influenced by Sarah J Maas (understandable, really)Despite the plethora of similarities, I really liked this book and can’t wait for the next in series. The main character, Haven has really grown into a character I like. A lot more happened in this book/the story moved faster. So I can’t wait for the next book!
Oh. My. Gosh! That was the most all-consuming book I’ve read in a long time! I am hooked on this series! The first 2 books were great, but this one…. this one pulled me in and kept me captivated until the very last page. I cannot wait to read more of this wonderful story. I received an ARC of King Maker and I am so appreciative. I absolutely love everything about this book!I rooted for Stolas all along. The Beast needed his Beastie to love him and once she did, it all came together perfectly. Haven might have made mistakes along the way, but she followed her heart and in the end, it saved her whole family.
This is the third installment in the Kingdom of Runes saga and it was fantastic. I couldn’t put it down. Audrey Grey has very quickly become one of my favorite writers. There were so many plot twists and all of the characters grew and changed throughout this book. The development of relationships between the characters was also well done. This book elicited so many feelings that it was hard to stop thinking about it after it was finished.
This is a great series so far. I melt every time Stolis says Beastie! I can not wait for next book. Love the plot and twists. Just keeps getting better. Book really shows how we can be our own worst enemies and how people can be so cruel and Bullies
â€And when the time comes she would end him— and it would be a mercy.â€*sighhhh* Another amazing series that would be absolutely flawless if it didn’t suffer from the whole “let me make her first love interest a villain to justify her being someone else’s mate.â€Archeron sacrificed so much for Haven in the first two books. He fell in love with her, worries over her and that was a big deal considering how much he’d grown to despise mortals because of what they did to him and his home. So I don’t understand why all of a sudden in this book the couldn’t stop arguing, he comes back with this “darkness†about him and the seer says their feelings for each other were manipulated. You’re kidding me, right??!It’s ok for a woman to love someone and change her mind. Let’s be honest, the author had been hinting towards Haven and Stolas being chapter one of the first book when she tasted his blood. Although the mate thing hasn’t been confirmed, it’s quite obvious. So there was just no need for a very likeable and nice character to go from good to completely controlling and evil. Just say she changed her mind after she realized her feelings for Stolas. We all know it had nothing to do with his 500 year old betrothal to Avaline. Considering she knew that from the beginning.Ok now that the rants over, haha I can say how much I loved the plot of this book. Even more magic and so many intense scenes. I was definitely not expecting that plot twist of an ending. The plot twist with Bell, Havens mo.
Absolutely love this series I just finished kingmaker and I already want another book it sucks we have to wait so long for it to come but it’ll be worth the wait
Excellent character development, driving story, and amazing payoffs.
So i have been patiently waiting for this next book in the series and did not expect the twist. I will say the first few chapters were a bit slower but it lead up well to the plot and back story with tiny reveals that kept me turning the pages till early morning hours. Now to find books to fill the time till November.
Audrey Grey has become one of my new favorites and this is why. This book tugged my heart in all kinds of directions, had me cheering and booing characters and threatening to slap a one in particular. I’ve been team-Stolas all along but never expected what happened in this book. This is a must-read series and I am anxiously waiting for the next book. Haven’s powers were mistaken as belonging to her best friend, Bell, which led to him being kidnapped and an adventure that broke the dark curse hanging over their lands. But now they are stuck with their lie and it brings a new threat when Bell is drafted as a champion to compete in a tournament in the lands of a tyrant queen without Haven by his side. Defying every law has never been a problem for Haven but when she sneaks into the tournament to save Bell a chain of events is set into place that will change her new-found family forever. And the darkness they thought they had banished was child’s play compared to what is coming.
Sometimes, in a series, you get to a point in the story where you can just see where it’s all going and you begin to lose interest. This book avoids the mid-series slump and completely blows it all out of the water. I feel like now I should go back and reread the first to just to see how I completely missed it all. This was so good. The relationships in this book took some major twists and turns and I loved where we ended up. I wont say more because I know someone out there is reading for spoilers and they ain’t coming from me!
