I had one of these when I was a kid after my parents returned the giant Hummer H2 that was all the rage that holiday season(it sucked). The vertigo was an absolute blast that my parents still talk about because we didn’t know what to expect from it. Growing up I ran the hell out of it everywhere I went. I’m honestly probably going to get another one for my nephew to play with when he gets a little older. (but until then I’m going to enjoy it again haha)
…and shame on the people who give it as a gift without buying the battery! High quality R/C cars have always needed a separate purchase of a battery. It always says that on the box and in every online advertisement. Just learn to read people! This car has been played to death since my son received it on Christmas Day. Down flights of stairs, into walls and all without a scratch. This thing practically never gets stuck. There is no upside-down or forward/backward to this car. It will go anywhere…even up a telephone pole if it had the traction. I notice that people don’t rate the educational factor very high. It teaches an incredible amount of hand to eye coordination and motor skills. You won’t get any better for the price. To the person who complains about the price of batteries, I just picked up extra battery packs from a well known auction site for 9 dollars each with free shipping.
This is a great rc. I’m the mom and I think I play with it more than my son. It’s awesome – indoors anyway. We haven’t had a chance to take it outside and give it a shot. This rc is tons of fun, and the light show is great! Definite thumbs up!
My wife bought me this toy for Christmas of ’03… it still gets frequent playtime. This car is an absolute beast! I love toys that you can just beat the snot out of and they keep on ticking. Over a year later, the plastic is gouged to hell and the tires are a bit worn from frequent use, but it runs as good as it did on day one. This is impressive, considering what my sons and I have done to this stoic little monster:-Drove it down 10 contrete steps (multiple times)-Flipped it off the hood of my car-Strapped a smoking stick firework to the top and drove it around the mall parking lot on Independence Day.-Kids have accidentally stepped on it countless times (I chase them around the yard with it)-Driven at the feet of friends who then punt it away from them several feet, landing with a resounding SMACKSo its safe to say that I have tested its mettle, and those are just the things I can think of right now. I drive it into the kids’ room when they’re playing and they squeal with delight as this unstoppable creature tears through all the toys on the ground. It spits legos out in its wake as it rips and flips though everything around it. I chase them with it and they flee in feigned terror, their every attempt to escape foiled by the car’s ability to flip and go the opposite direction instantly without warning. It can go over grass, dirt, carpet, mud, jumps, and small curbs if you hit them at an angle. The twin motors that run this thing are surprising powerful. The motors drive in.
I have lots of other cars so I would know a good car from a bad one.If you are wondering about the spltting body it just splits apart whenever. Its a four wheel drive car just like the Tyco Rebounds[exept the air rebound, which my brother got and it is very bad]it goes in grass well. Its pretty small and it scratches easily I got it all scratched up after 4 minutes of driving outside and i’m not reckless with radio controled cars either. Its a fast car but its low to the ground so that takes away from the off-roadness.It has red, yellow, and blue lights that flash when you spin,it looks like a whirlwind thats all colory.Oh yeah, and moms and dads are complaining that they had to buy battery packs,it says right on the box that it needs a TMH flexpack.
I have several remote control cars, and this is my favorite. The battery lasts alot longer than my others, and at night, I take it outside in the dark so we can watch the changing lights when it spins around. It doesn’t get stuck in the dirt or grass, it just plows right through. Even my mom can drive it! I want my brother to have the other color so we can race, but mom can’t find it anywhere. Your kid will love this car, it’s great! And mine hasn’t fallen apart like the last reveiw said. I think they aren’t playing with it right, you aren’t supposed to crash it into things, just drive and spin it.
My son received this toy for Christmas and the whole family loves it. He’s only 4 but the controls are easy enough for him to understand. It’s even a great babysitter because his little sister will watch it run forever. Despite what other reviewers have written, the writing on the box clearly states what type of battery is needed and that it is not included. My recommendation, however, would be to buy two batteries, not because the battery has a short life, but because your kids and/or you will want to play with it a lot. The car is very durable, fast, and entertaining. It just makes a great gift.
I bought this car as a Christmas present for my 3 year old. He LOVES it (and so does his Dad)! It is easy to operate–even for my 3 year old! It is also so much fun to watch! Most remote control cars are only fun for the one operating them, but not this one. It will go all over the yard (at pretty fast speeds)and if it hits a stick or bump it flips over and keeps going. It is absolutely amazing to watch, and will literally keep everyone laughing at how unstopable it is. The perfect car for young children who get frustrated easily with the traditional remote control vehicles. We do live in the country; therefore have lots of space to drive it, which probably does add to the fun. It is very durable. I paid the full price for this toy and think it was worth every penny! I can’t brag enough on this toy and must say without it Christmas wouldn’t have been nearly as much fun!
This was my grandson’s most used toy last year. The toy has no real “right side up”. eg. if it turns over it keeps going. It will come to a wall, the front climbs up the wall, it goes over backwards and keep going. Way cool!Best of last year.
This car was the hit of Christmas day! We had so much fun playing with it. It drives over everything and the stunts are better than any other I’ve seen. Most R.C. cars are just cars that drive around and the kids can get pretty bored fairly quickly. This one does stunts and has light shows. I was worried that this level car would be too much for my 7 yr old. But he picked up every stunt and how to handle it within an hour of pulling it out.The only downside to this is that the car itself is not complete. You have to order the battery pack at another $30 separately. Nevertheless, we had an incredible time seeing what it would go over, how fast we could flip it and who could get it spinning the fastest. This is great stuff guys.
