This game is the cream of the crop of shooting games for me. My favorite time crisis cause it is the best one in my opinion. An absolute must own this is always very entertaining and owning it is even better than the game was in the arcades no quarters required. Buy this if you can you won’t regret it.
Crisis Zone is pretty much Time Crisis on adrenaline. It takes the two defining mechanics of the series, ducking & shooting, & injects them with a hearty dose. Now, instead of a six shooter pistol you have a fully automatic machinegun & instead of ducking behind a nearby object you are mobile with an invincible riot shield. This means the playfield often moves during the action as opposed to the more static angles of previous entries. It also throws more heavily armored enemies your way you’ll have to wittle down with a spray of fire. These changes combined with a pulse pounding soundtrack add up to an incredible gameplay experience that’s really like no other, even when compared to top notch light gun shooters such as House Of The Dead. If you are a fan of Razing Storm (& I am) then in playing this you can really see where it gets it’s pedigree.I used to spend a ton of quarters in the arcades playing this bad boy. I would even travel pretty far & wide to do so at times, so it’s really great to finally have it at home. This version is visually enhanced over the arcade original & also comes with an extra new campaign that continues the story some months later. However, in the year 2013 it is difficult to play the Time Crisis games how they were intended. First, you’ll need a CRT television to use Namco’s GunCon peripherals with the game. No other TV or monitor is going to work, so don’t even try. Second, to get decent visuals out of a CRT & PS2 you’ll need to pick a boobtube th.
Despite the bad reviews that this game has received, I absolutely adore this game and all of the time crisis, house of the dead, and metal slug games because arcade classics are my favorite!!!!
This was probably the most out of place time crisis games out of the lot that were produced for the ps2 but none the less was still a great game.
Amazing.
This game is probably my favorite time crisis game. The basic game play is the same with one huge exception, you have unlimited machine gun rounds. Gone is the need to save amunition for a particular time. Once you beat arcade mode you unlock crisis mode and play with every weapon with unlimited ammo. There are also timed modes, special weapons modes and enough other unlockables to keep this game fun longer than most. Even after you beat everything its time to replay it and beat your times and score. My friend ( who hates video games ) played this and time crisis 3 and loved it. she said she actually had dreams about playing it.
Great arcade game.
I had fun playing this game, don’t know what else to say. Other than it was what I exspected and I enjoyed it.
This is the one that got away! I have Time Crisis games from playstation one through four, and I didn’t even know it existed. This it good shoot-’em up fun at it’s best.
I’d always been interested in the Time Crisis series since I saw them in the arcade. I never picked one up since I didn’t have a light gun for the PS2. Recently I found a copy of this one for a little over a buck so I figured I’d give it a try with the controller. I LOVED it and am really happy with the purchase. If you remember the old T2: The Arcade Game for Sega Genesis, you get the basics of this game. It plays just fine with the usual controller. The basic story, which doesn’t matter at all, is some terrorists with way too much logistical support, have taken over some tech plaza and your team has to save it. You can pick any of the first three areas you’ll do first, but you have to beat all three before you get to the 4th and final level. You have to beat them without running out of continues too. Just a tip, but the longer you play and the more you beat, the more continues it seems to give you, so you may want to try beating each area even if you can’t beat them all yet.Anyway, after you destroy the three zones, you end up in a short boss fight level that’s still reasonably difficult if you’re out of lives. The arcade apparently ends here, but the PS2 one has more to come. You pick up 6 months later and a new boss has taken over. He kidnaps your commander’s daughter and you have to go in and get her back. You can pick to start this campaign without playing through the first again, but all three levels must be played through without running out of continues..
