Tactics ogre is an amazing yet flawed experimental game this game is full of highs and lows. This game contains some really interesting battle grounds and it also contains some boring over used ones..how many times do I need to recapture the same castle….can I just get better guards lol but even so this game is impressive. You control up to 12 units per battle that’s alot more than other srpg’s this adds layers of depth and or chaos not found in final fantasy tactics or vandal hearts the other two best srpg’s imo. This creates a slightly more realistic battles you can form a line and hold it if need be and even build barriers to fortify areas while you distract the enemy you can send assasins in to snuff out enemy leaders to win battles or any other strategy you can think to employ. Your strategy is likely to depend on what classes you use and theres alot of them to choose from many interesting ones to try out. Theres usually choices on which side of a castle to attack adding more feeling of depth. Theres areas that span 15 battles or more you can save in between good thing the largest one has 100+ battles this game goes all out and has some of the best srpg battles ever and probly a few less than great as well. There is different paths and choices and actions that change the game in all sorts of ways making this game have more appeal over all. This version is more forgiving as far as permanent death goes it’s almost a none factor now if your decent at the game. The.
This game reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics a lot.. the story along with the writing the the characters.. but it’s entirely different. The fun part is that you can choose how you want to do the story.. which I thought was a great touch.. I love the characters and all the suspicion surrounding them.. Good ol’ SRPG, just love it.
This is an old school game that brings back a lot of memories. I will be taking quite a bit of time to play this.
Long game, but it is fun.
FF Tactics was better with leveling and playability, overall not a bad game.
First off, I really like the story and the battle system. I enjoyed final fantasy tactics which is almost exactly like this game. The only problem that I have and also had with ff is that I get stuck quite often in story because I cannot beat the next battle to move forward. This makes it very challenging which is good but also very frustrating!
This is Final Fantasy Tactics with noses! It plays just like FFT, as you select a unit, move it, then attack, or vise versa. It is just about as fun, although the difficulty is ramped up somewhat.Did I say “somewhat?” This game is easily twice as difficult. I found myself losing, or quiting just as many battles as I am playing, if not more! The enemy preys on your weakest units with rampant blood-lust! If a unit is even one level behind your other units, or has ten less Health Points, watch out! Putting weaker units in the back solves nothing, as the enemy always has magic or bowmen to continue the assault. The learning curve is horrendous as well, especially if you’re used to FFT like me! You just have to hang in there and go to forums to ask questions.Getting the “Bad” out of the way, this game is also incredibly fun! Like FFT, you can get numerous different types of allies, much more I think! The monsters are twenty times as useful though, as the monsters in many Tactical RPG’s, like FFT, are fairly useless. The Dragons are just incredible especially! Plus, with 10 units in most story battles, you really feel like you’re in an epic adventure!Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is a wonderful game, if you can get past the hiccups in the beginning. Although it’s very challenging, it is also very rewarding and fun, especially when your dragon kills two enemies side by side with it’s breath! I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys challenging games and TRPG’s. Just don’t e.
dope
It’s a perfect combination of classic SRPG exploration and grinding, branching storylines, etc.And the Chariot system (50 levels of undo) helps a ton in grinding and optimizing battles. For a more casual player who still wants to do everything, this is really nice.
I am a RPG fan and I love many games made/published by square enix, with a doubt in my mind that this title is no exception. I absolutely love this game besides being a remake, a must-buy if you own a PSP!If you want a game that’s worth your money and time, this game is both sophisticated and extremely appealing! The storyline is rich along with its uniquely defined class system, it was an instant classic when it first came out in 1995. Don’t miss out!
