There have been a lot of people really bashing this game. It honestly still needs a lot of work. If you are an MX vs ATV fan then go ahead and buy this game. The lag and frame rate is so far the worst part of the game. It has already improve though with their first couple of patches, but still needs work. One thing that needs some adjusting in my opinion is the turning. It is just weird and not really effective. That definitely needs some tuning. Also the bikes can feel very underpowered. I have to use the clutch boost all the time just to keep momentum up. Local player split screen is where the lag is the worst no doubt. So that needs improvement. The scrubs are very bad, actually not really possible. The AI riders are so so bad. Constantly wrecking and running into me, putting tough blocks in the middle of the track, and he only stick to one line. They need some work. Now to the good stuff. The whips are probably the best of the series. So free riding is an absolute, so far my favorite part of the game. Local multiplayer split screen is fun. I’m so happy that is still part of this game. Brings back good memories. The tracks are very enjoyable and will become more enjoyable once the frame rate issues are fixed and if THQNordic fixes the AI issues. I personally believe the graphics are very good, but with a lot of pop in, which leads to worse frame rates. The lag is very bad when turning. I love that tough blocks are easy to move around. It is much better that way. I used to.
I pre-ordered the game how do I receive the promo coupon for all bikes and tracks
This game is great!!! They put all of the modern touches it needed and really expanded on areas that were lacking in other games. Bike mods, rider wear, vehicles are all excellent. Takes some time to get used to the control differences from previous games, but it’s a wonderful game once you’re comfortable! I love the career mode and the private ranch map is great as well!
Seems to me that a lot of the negative response is out of frustration and lack of time out in the game. The only reason I’m not delivering 5 stars is due to the bugs that I’m confident will be fixed. This game is actually impressive in many ways. Supercross is scaled excellent and flows really well. And the attention to a fun experience in free ride maps is impressive. The game has the most dynamic I’ve seen in any arcade mx game, once you get a feel for it you’ll understand that it’s fairly limitless. And supercross flows incredibly well. The whips are also endless. The statement that this plays like a ps2 game is ridiculous, considering the amount of data they put in it the graphics are just fine. Animations and sounds greatly enhance the experience with exception to the two stokes, which I’m unsure why were ever put in. The game isn’t perfect but offered a long life span of fun and practice. My main complaint is in the outdoor nationals and the rider size. Though you can aid this by switching to the female model(can’t tell and is much more asthetic), the nationals lack in quality. Only a few are fun and if they added more technicality and character they’d flow a lot better. I think they should develope the nationals just like supercross in that it’s not on a free ride map, which I believe would increase quality and reduce bugs. This is hands down the best game they’ve produced, but I enjoy a challenging platform in the physics department as it’s much more satisfying when.
The game is not bad. It is a little floaty around corners and when jumping and the ground contact could be better but all of that can be fixed with a patch. It takes some time to learn but it’s better than the previous games and you can customize almost everything in it.
Fun game, kids love it….but getting tired of retrolio’s broken 2 day delivery promises. 3 to 4 days is the new norm for 2 day shipping
Husband loved it
I spend too much time playing it. It is great.
I’m giving this a 5 star review to counteract all the unfair 1 star reviews. In reality this is a 4 star game for me. I just got the game and downloaded patch 1.04 and it runs smooth and feels good! I enjoy this game more than the other’s in this category because of the variety of vehicles and tracks, and while it’s not perfect it’s still a lot of fun and you have to get used to the bike handling which allows you to grow into the game. Will be playing this game off and on for a long time!
What’s with all the hate? MX vs ATV has never been about realism in my opinion, it’s been about having fun, and that what this is. If I wanted realism I’d get off my butt and go ride a bike, in the meantime, I’ll have fun playing this. 4 stars only because of some slight framerate issues during races, and the occasional glitches, but who doesn’t love some fun glitches here and there? Also, the physics take getting used to, you aren’t just gonna be a pro as soon as you turn the game on. I’m having a blast with it and I hope all this hate doesn’t stop them from making more games in the future. Thank you Nordic for continuing this great franchise!
