As soon as I bought a 3DS I ran through a list of games I just had to own for it. Ranked highly was Super Mario 3D Land, so I bought the game and loved every minute so far. While New Super Mario Bros. is more of the traditional Super Mario experience, Super Mario 3D Land is more like Super Mario 64, in more open stages you can explore and find things in. So many fun things to see, do and find in this game. Absolutely worth the purchase.
Great game. Good value. The main story is a bunch of fun. Afterward there’s another set of Special Levels which exponentially increase in difficulty. I’m still trying at Special World 8. The last Mario title I played was New Super Mario Bros Wii and I was disappointed the game was so short. No problems here. Like other Nintendo developed titles for the 3DS the 3-D effects are great.
Bought this for my 5 year old son for his 2ds. He absolutely loves it.
I didn’t buy super mario bros 2 due to the fact that many people are saying that its really short, thus not buying it. I played this and man oh man, its well worth the money I paid for it. This game has many things to do such as getting a golden flag on every level and getting 3 golden star coins as well. Thing is… If you were to play this for hours flat.. it would only take a day or two to finish everything, but then again its a mario game so theres not much to do after you beaten and achieved everything like the special stages.
This is my first Mario game ever, and I think it’s great so far! (I haven’t finished it) it’s not super intense or super difficult which I enjoy. I’ve heard the later worlds have some difficulty to them but I’m not too worried. Also it got here super fast!
Its great and fun game for everyone that likes Mario or is casual gamer or just entering the world of video games. The game its just the right difficulty and its very simply to control and play. the graphics are really nice with the 3D and the different views are nice too. To me this game had a little Mario 64 feel to it, I would love to see the hat with wings on this game it would have been a nice surprise. So overall I highly recommend this to anyone that has a 3ds.
This game is a lot of fun. I would give it 5 stars but there are a couple of issues I have with it:1) Although the game is 3D, the gameplay feels linear at times. The camera angles are generally quite restricted. You can peak a little to the left and right, otherwise the camera is controlled automatically. Its perspective changes quite often, but forces you to see only certain things. I’m sure part of the reason is that this game is supposed to feel like a 3D version of the original Mario Land platformers, but this limitation did curb my interest in fully exploring the levels.2) The game is pretty easy. It wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t give you the P-Wing or magic Tanooki suit after you died 5 times on a level. I’ve been playing Mario since the early days, and we didn’t have cop-outs like that back then :D. I didn’t use this option because I wanted to collect the achievement at the end of the game, but it still made it feel like you aren’t quite playing with live ammo.3) Without the star coins, there wouldn’t be much challenge in the levels. But the star coins you collect appear in the slots according to where they are in the level. So if you miss the first coin and get the second, it shows up in the second slot. This makes it kind of obvious roughly where the missing coins are in a level, especially since the levels generally aren’t very big.Anyway, I would give this game a score in the high 80s, but can’t quite give it 5/5 stars.
Over and over and over. Oh man I had to send them to another room so I didn’t have to hear this one anymore. This game definitely got played with. I’m still wary of the prices on Nintendo games they always seem so high to me, but this one wasn’t any higher than most others.
Bought this for my five year old niece. She loves it even though I think it’s bit too hard for her to play. That doesnt stop her trying and enjoying the process.
I recently purchased Super Mario 3D Land for my 3DS because I saw its great reviews, plus, I’m already a Mario fan. This game meets all of my expectations and more. It is extremely fun – this game combines the original elements from the platformers with the 3D world. It works beautifully. The levels are designed perfectly with a great amount of difficulty. Some say the game starts too easy, but I disagree. The game is not at all easy, especially nearing the end. The game also re-introduces the Tanooki Suit. You cannot fly with it, but the hover ability is extremely useful with some tricky platforming areas. And of course, the game looks beautiful in 3D. The game does not require 3D to be enjoyable, though. I played the majority of it with the feature turned off, but there are certain areas that almost require you to turn it on – very creative! It was hair-rippingly difficult on certain levels, keeping me coming back over and over. I’ve already played it twice all the way through and love it. I recommend this game to anybody who loves Mario games.
