As far as shmups go on the N64 in North America… This is about all we got! Fortunately, the game is not bad at all with a bullet hell feel and very precise control. It has that mid/late 90s 3D graphics on 2D plane shooter look to it, like Einhander, Darius Gaiden or R Type Delta. To say it is as good as any of those titles may be a stretch but I’m rating it on a fun factor and this game gets a 5/5 there!

this game is the only classic space shooter for the n64 and its a good one, so get it for your collection. Its a little hard but its fun and challenging
one of my all time favorites for the n64. in my opinion one of the best looking games for the system. if you like the genre and you’re interested in playing older games pick this one up. i know this game won’t make many people’s short list, however, if you are into spaceships, lasers and are a huge nerd you’ll know you’ll like it. if you are not a fan of shooters don’t pick it up.

I didn’t know that Star Soldiers is a remake from the early Nintendo game you can check it out on YouTube first if you like its a vertical 2D Shooter. Great game.
Absolutely fantastic spaceship shooter game with a grand soundtrack. Packs a hearty challenge with thrilling yet approachable pace and a mouth-watering soundtrack; if it’s too hard, you can always turn down the difficulty though. This is a great addition to any one’s N64 collection, especially for those looking for some vertical scrolling arcade shooter fun!
