I’m 10 years old and I played it at my friend’s house and I thought it was so fun and cool. I like the way you have to play to the end and then you get all kinds of cool people, like aliens and rock people. If you win, you get more cool people and you could build up a great team to go to the playoffs and win.
Video game basketball falls into two categories: arcade and simulation. Simulation games almost universally stink–largely because passing the ball around among five players can be a daunting challenge by itself, much less keeping up with everyone. In contrast, arcade games narrow the playing field down to three, two, or one player per team, simplifying the game and increasing the fun.For those who may not know, Electronic Arts practically invented the arcade-style basketball game (we will ignore Atari basketball) with its landmark title One on One. Licensed players (Dr. J. and Larry Byrd, to be specific), instant replays, shattered backboards, and fouls were all seen for the very first time back in the days when Michael Jordan was playing for the University of North Carolina and not for Bugs Bunny.NBA Street is essentially three-on-three, low-rules, street ball. Goaltending is legal, charging is legal, but Harlem Globetrotter moves such as pantsing your opponent are still forbidden. Your team is rewarded with trick points for each special move you accomplish, and with enough trick points you can pull off a "gamebreaker"–a high-percentage shot effectively worth double the normal amount of points (it adds to your score and subtracts from your opponent’s).Like EA Sports Big’s other title, SSX, NBA Street is a triumph of style and of substance. The graphics, sound, and overall presentation are strong enough keep you intrigued until the smooth control and addictive gam.
I generally don’t play sports games because they are too much simulation and not enough fun. The last really, really fun sports games I’ve played were NBA Jam and NFL Blitz, so yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve found another game that I can get into. NBA Street has everything: fun, strategy, customization, and I can put Jordan and my boy Iverson on my squad… I couldn’t ask for more. Half of the game is locked when you first start so it’s got replay value. I’m a hiphop head but the game’s music is annoying. If you turn off the BGM and play to some music from your own collection, then the game is on FIRE. Overall
Although it didn’t ship with the case and the disk is a bit nicked here and there (as mentioned in the description ) it still works perfectly in my system and I haven’t had any freezes or any other sort of problems while playing the game. Still I knew what I was getting into with buying a used game so the evidence that it was pre-owned doesn’t bother me, as long as the game itself plays seemlessly on my console, which it does.
NBA Street is awesome, tons of fun. The game is 3-on-3 format, street rules (scoring by 1s & 2s to 21, no fouls, no goaltending, etc). Great game to play by yourself or against a friend (though unfortunately, no ability to play 2 people on same team or 4+ w/ multitap). Best part is creating your own street-ball character, and build skills as you win more games. Lots of cheats and secrets to unlock as you advance (new outfits for your player, new courts to play on, etc).I’ve seen NBA Live, NCAA, and the others. If you want a realistic, 5-on-5 game that is like real-life, I’d suggest one of these. If you want the most fun basketball game out there, w/ in-game commentary like "whole lotta game" [stet], good graphics & gameplay, get NBA Street.
Just picked up a copy today and played it for the first time. It’s an incredible game. The graphics, sound, gameplay is unbelievable…this totally crushes every simulation basketball game to date.
Best game ever – had to buy new copy because old disc was overused!!!

Having the original NBA Street on the original SEGA Genisis when i was younger made me fall in love with the original sport of Streetball. Thats partly why i love the sport today, and since NBA Jam there hasnt been another game like it… until now! Everything in the game is neat and created to perfection except a couple of minor issues I get to later.(5/5) The GraphicsPlaystation 2… the newest and modern technology out. Being that all games on the PS2 should be outstanding to our PSOne eyes, and thats exactly what they are outstanding. All the moves are smooth as micheal Jacksons Face. All the players are original unlike most NBA games who use 5 different skins depending on skin color and hair color or having the cover character specialized.(4.5/5) SoundThe only thing worng with the sound is the slighty annoying Joe “The Show” Jackson. He’s an old retired player tring to be cool. Its not really what he says but the sound of his voice. Other than that the sound is good. The music was well done by the creaters and fit into the game very well.(4.5/5) GameplayThis game is very arcade style. It may take a little to get used to. The only one problem here is the difficulty level. On difficulty setting No Game (EASY) is exactly what it is no game, Its pretty easy. But when you move to Got Game (MEDIUM) the computer starts cheating, pretty bad too. Im to scared to try Mad Skills (HARD).Everything else is really nice like the GAMEBREAKER SYSTEM and the Trick Point Advantages. The tw.
I just bought NBA Street a day ago, so I haven’t been able to dive deep into the game, but from what I can tell so far, the graphics are excellent and the gameplay is fantastic. A lot of the moves and ball tricks are ones I see regularly at the local Y, which makes the game several steps above any previous NBA based game that just features "normal" handles. Some compare this game to NBA Jam. I think the comparison is somewhat valid, but with the addition of street moves, the circuit of available courts, and the numerous cheats, it provides a much more value over the long term that NBA Jam or others that just change player faces and court colors for variation.
