This is an amazing game. Its not like the normal lego games (batman, indiana jones, starwars, etc.). It is a real time strategy game. You have to take control of little mini figures and build a (i woudn’t say city) base where your soldiers are made and such. There are so many entertaining levels. You have to use builders to build barracks, castles, vehicle factories, and farms. To win the levels you have to complete a series of goals. Some levels have one goal while some have 3 or 4. Some are as simple as “defend your outpost” in which a timer comes up and you defend until runs out. Some are hard like “destroy the enemy outposts” depending on how strong the outpost is. I wuld recomend this for at least 6 0r 7 years of age. Note: this is not a game in which you take a character, say batman, and switch him out with another, lets say robin or batgirl, and battle enemies and fight bosses. This is a (honestly) more realistic game. The game includes something that not everyone would expect, build time. It actually takes a couple seconds (maybe even a minute) to build your soldiers and buildings. The game becomes much more advanced because of this. Make sure to warn your kids that this is something much more different then normal lego games. You need to think much harder and work fast and multitask to win in a game like this.
I would recommend this game to children in upper elementary through middle school. My son plays it a lot during the week.
Gave as christmas gift and he loved it
I got this for my 10 year old. In the beginning he found it frustrating because it is not like the other Lego games which, while very fun, follow pretty much the same formula. This game has more of a learning curve but once my son got the hang of it he came to love it and plays it a ton. We have just about every Lego game available and this is defniitely in the top 3 of games he plays the most. Some of his friends also have it for DS and they play together. I think younger children would find this baffling, it seems better suited to older kids. Personally I like the Lego games because even the bad guys are cute.
This was a Christmas Gift.
I couldn’t put the game down once I got it. I played through all six of the campaigns to completion. While the game has some detractors- for example, the sameness of the missions, the small battles (I’m guessing because hardware limitations) and intermittently wonky controls- it is a very fun set of campaigns and highly addictive. It is easily worth the $10 asking price and possibly the most fun I’ve had on the DS in a very long time.
We have been competing as to who can get through the levels the quickest, it is great for children to learn logic and planning, plus anything Lego has to be cool.
no case… maybe I missed where it said that.
What little boy doesn’t like legos? What little boy doesn’t like to play video games? This was a win win!!
I bought this game for my son, who loves everything Lego. However, it’s wayyy too hard for him! It isn’t a classic Lego type game, but there are missions and building, etc. It’s a lot of instruction however, and since my little guy can’t read, my husband and I are holding it back for him. We’ve had a lot of fun playing it though!
