I got this game for my kids, now 16 and 11, a little more than a year ago and they have really enjoyed it. My son finished the game and is currently playing it over from the beginning again! He says he loves the graphics, the characters, and the way that players interact with the game.
one of my all time faves. beautiful.
This is a wonderful game. A gorgeous look to it, a wonderful way to play, et al. It’s one of my favorite titles, and I’ve had it for a couple year now.
I would say it’s like Ocarina of Time, only steeped in Japanese Mythology and has a surprisingly sharp sense of humor. It’s definitely a gaming experience you don’t want to miss out on.
I love the gameplay, love the story, and love the art. If only it had been longer and more in depth, because I loved it
Clover Studios is no longer around but the employees still work at Capcom. People complain about a lack of interesting games during this "Call of Duty" point and shoot generation. Buy the game it’s really a sight to behold & basically is Zelda but w/ Japanese themes & a dog
This game is outstanding. I had heard of it before, read the reviews but avoided it because it seemed outside my safe zone for games. I could not have been more wrong. First off, I haven’t played the PS2 version of this game so I can’t compare the two. I can say that the controls translate to the Wii better than I could have hoped. I wish all Wii games played this well. Graphics are great, not HD but the artistic quality more than compensates. While not being HD I have to say it looks quite stunning on a 47″ 1080p LED-Backlit LCD TV using the component connections. Story for this game is top notch, rooted in Japanese mythology and has plenty humorous moment. Gameplay is great, lots of Adventuring, battling and innovative elements. Only complaint is it uses voices like in Animal Crossing instead of real voice actors. However this also could be a good thing as no single character becomes grating and annoying to interact with. I would say this game will keep a completionist busy for 40 hours, and casual gamer busy for about 20. If your on the fence about this game, take a chance and get this game. It is more satisfying than many of the AAA game titles I have purchased this year for 2-3 times the cost. Also if you love Zelda or similar type games this is a must buy as it is on par in terms of quality and satisfaction.
I definitely give this game an easy 5 star rating, because the graphics are gorgeous, the music is beautiful, and the storyline is awesome! Every time I defeated a boss battle, I would think "Please, don’t tell me the game is over," because I would want to keep playing and see more adventures and collect more treasures! If you want a great storyline with amazing graphics and a good laugh, this is definitely the game to get!
my 13 year old loves this game. the graphics are very artistic and lush. she has played it every chance she is allowed, over all her other games!
Okami is a very artistic, visually pleasing game. It starts out slow – the intro story takes much too long and you cannot fast forward or skip it when starting a new game, but when you finally get to begin playing, it’s worth the wait. The unique style makes you feel as if an old Japanese scroll has come to life. The music is equally beautiful and pleasing. The story is enjoyable, if at times a bit monotonous. The main problem with this game is the way the controls work on Wii. I’ve spent well over 15 minutes trying to get a brush stroke to work properly, even if I am doing it exactly as instructed. It just doesn’t always recognize the proper movements. This can get very frustrating. But controls aside, this is really a wonderful game. It’s beautiful to look at and a lot of fun to play.
