My nephew absolutely loves this game! It works with the Wii remote and Wii fit board which is convenient. Great variety of games with Nick Jr characters like Dora, Diego, and the Backyardigans. My only problem is the way you navigate through the game with the Wii remote. Instead of using the arrow keys or a hand on the tv screen to push buttons, you have to tilt the Wii remote side to side to get to what you want. This was difficult and still is for my 3 tear old nephew to work! The titling is not hard obviously, but when you do this it is hard to keep it on one option, which results in the pointer going all over the screen. It gets very frustrating. Why not just stick with using the arrow keys? That’s my only problem with this game, other than that it is great!
Lots of fun for little kids who like Wii Sports, Sports Resort, and Fit. My son likes the games where he moves a lot. I like that these games are responsive but are not terribly specific (ie: we have that Carnival game and it is very frustrating for a three year old who doesn’t throw it "just right" or time it perfectly). A lot of the games give you a visual or verbal clue to do an action like "jump now!" or something lights up or flashes, etc. Those cues are really helpful. The range and variety of games is great. I also like the verbal and visual description at the beginning of each game. The games where the kids play against a character they usually win, so that helps alleviate tantrums! My biggest complaint is that you have to hold the remote sideways and press the 2 button. My kids are used to the standard Nintendo brand games that utilize pointing at options and pressing A. Even though they can’t read, they look for the prompts to play again, exit, etc. These Nickelodeon games are frustrating for that reason, but not the end of the world.
xmas gift for my 3 year old who got his first game system a wii! I was very skeptical about it being too hard but I wanted to encourage the physical movement. We live in a crappy area so I don’t take him out much unless its far from here. So I wanted something that could get him playing and moving without going to the local parks! Great buy Its really easy for him! He loves all the characters even though hes not into tv he started to like them with this game! Hes really into books so I didn’t think he would like this but he really loves it and he plays for about 30 minutes a day with me! (It really is a workout lol) Great for parents and kids to do together!
We love this game! This is the 4th Wii game we’ve tried for our 3 and 5-year old daughters. One they were totally uninterested in. There were 2 that they liked, but they were too hard for them to play independently. And we thought they were really boring, so we didn’t want to play with them much. This game is just perfect. Even the 3-year old can operate this game alone. It keeps them moving and holds their attention. They’re having a blast with it. They earn medals even when they don’t do so well, so there’s no sadness! I love watching them play because they’re adorable doing the actions and it’s fun to stand and do them with them. Only 1 person at a time can hold the controller, but there’s a “multiplayer” mode where they switch back and forth. They can always stand and do the moves when it’s not their turn. They haven’t complained about that at all. I’m really impressed with the activity level, too. My kiddos are really active to begin with and this still tires them out. After a couple of the games they just fall to the floor! Buy it!
I got this for my 3 year old, and he absolutely loves it. He does need some help navigating the menu, but otherwise, he’s picking up on everything quite well, and it seems to be right on par with his abilities. Moose (from Nick Jr.) does a great job explaining how to play each game before it starts, and a little icon shows you the movements you need to make on the wii fit board, and/or with the wii remote to play. Seeing exactly how to move his body like that has been great for his understanding of how to play.I didn’t buy this game to give my son a work-out, because as a 3 year old he doesn’t need it. He enjoys using the wii fit board, but most of the adult games we have are too difficult for him. This gives him the chance to use the board and be successful at the game too. The fact he’s playing along with the Nick Jr. characters is a huge factor to his enjoyment too :)This is perfect and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone for their pre-school aged child(ren). My only beef with it so far is I wish after each game there was an option to play again or quit, like wii sports, so you could quickly play again without having to navigate through the menu again.
I bought this so my son could have some way to have an outlet for his energy and sleep at night. This was the BEST game to buy. He is able to do all the games, unlock other games and work up a great sweat. He feels better at night and is able to settle down and sleep. It is one of the best investments as far as games go. You do not need the Wii fit board to play the games. You can use the remote. But I am now considering buying the balance board to see how the games will change. My niece came over yesterday and the two of them played for almost two hours, came out drank water and talked about how fun it was to play all the games and she is 8. Highly recommend.
Bought as a gift for my 3 yr old niece since she wants to keep up with her older siblings. This is easy for her to play and she doesn’t need a ton of adult help. It definitely helps burn energy – requires lots of activity and movement. The older kids don’t mind playing it with her!
Very happy with this game. Really gets the kids moving during this time of quarantining! I got the re-used game and it works just fine.
I brought this for my two kids (3 and 5 at the time) and they both love it. You can play with or without the wii board (we choose not to play with wii board because they get too excited on it). It is simple, yet fun and the instructions that are given prior to the start of each game are pretty good. Kids do have to take turns as there is no split screen co-op (relay race requires the passing of the same wii remote back and forth). But overall a solid game and recommended for young kids who are fans of the nick toons present in the game.
We just got this game a couple of days ago and my 5 year old son begs me to play it all the time. Some reviewers have commented that navigating the screens was a little difficult because it was different but my son has no problem with it- he does it all on his own without any help from me. The games are easy for him to learn and he enjoys playing them over and over again. My only issue with it is that it is only one player. I would have liked my son and daughter to be able to play some of the games together instead of taking turns. And switching between players takes a bit more work than I would like. You have to go back to the main menu and choose a different player and then you have to hand the Wii remote to the new player since the game only allows one remote. The one remote issue really becomes a problem with one of only two multi-player games (neither of which is truly multi-player where more than one player is playing at the same time, you take turns.) In the relay game you are supposed to hand off the Wii remote to the next player. This is quite difficult if you have the strap on your wrist like you are supposed to. Overall I think it is a great game and the price on retrolio was the best!
