Some of the best kids games came out for the playstation 2, and since the playstation 3 is not backwards compatible, we had to try to get another one of these when ours finally started acting up (after an obscene amount of use over the years). I was so thrilled to find a brand new one of these on retrolio. It came in 2 days brand new in the box and I got a warranty. So cool.
I just got my PS2 Slim in yesterday and I am blown away. I was cautious that these were still advertised as brand new with Prime shipping. It is almost too good to be true. Thankfully the unit I received was brand new. It felt like I had just gone down to BestBuy and picked up a new console. The box was dust free as was everything inside. If you are looking for a brand new PS2 this is a great place to pick one up!The PS2 first came out in the year 2000 – now 14 years later you can still get one.So onto the actual console. I managed to hook it up to my projector and receiver last night and it still holds up. Star Wars – Starfighter still looks great – it’s no PS4, but the graphics have aged very gracefully and don’t look as bad as I was expecting. The optical audio output is welcome for if I ever use this as a DVD player.The slim design is built to last. It has the top loading drive like the near indestructible Nintendo GameCube and has plenty of fan ports to avoid over heating. I grew up with the PS2 and N64 – so I do miss that original more future looking PS2, but the slim being more future proof has me enjoying it.Using a brand new PS2 has me shocked and awed … in a good way. I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend others pick one up while they still can! These stopped production in January of 2013 so I’d imagine supplies will dry up fairly soon.
Everything was great. Plays nice. And all stuff was there to start playing. So it was perfect.
It is hard to believe that my 16 year old son who has XBox1 and PS4 wanted to get a PS2 because the game play of the old games is much better then those on the new systems. The graphics are a lot better on the new systems but game play is not the same anymore.
The PS2 arrived very promptly and works excellent! The only problem that I was not counting on is that the resolution looks so terrible on my HDTV and I know it never looked that blurry years ago when I payed my games! I guess I did not research that far to realize this unfortunate happening. I guess since PS is so ……! as to not make their newer systems backwards compatible and nor are the games I want to play like Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliances and the Legacy of Kain on offered on their PS-Now either and anyhow that is only available with a PS4 (why not on PS3???) Anyhow…. looks like I need to hunt down an old retro TV set!
The PS2 is one of the best gaming consoles that have ever been released. The games can even stand their own against some of todays titles. This was a powerful system at the time, and the fact that it can still impress people with it’s graphics says a lot about the console.I purchased this in 2011, when my original PS2 finally died on me, and I have played it more than I have played the PS3.A classic game console that’s almost as fun as a Super Nintendo!

I bought this 3 days ago and I already received it! The packaging was wrapped so nicely and with such care. I’ve been using the ps2 for about an hour now and have not had any issues or complaints yet. The controller was a little dinged up, but it works just fine. I only wished that the ps2 came with a memory card. Other than that, thank you so much!
Kids were so thrilled, I am happy!!!!!! This plug is not easy to find though, has two parts, we did not know, so if you buy without the plug included, be sure to get the right one, or, you will be frustrated.
Its the same as the thicker PS2 consoles, and at such a cheap price I think people should get them before they are no longer available. This is an amazing system with so many amazing games. I am biased towards first generation systems because most of them were my childhood. I can easily see why this console was so successful and will go down in history as being one of the longest running consoles ever made.
