My young boys love this game and it keeps them moving. I like it because during those days when we’re snowed in and can’t get out because of below 0 degree temperatures, it gets them moving and some exercise.
My 4 year old twins love the games, playing well alone or together. The menu is very hard for them to navigate, instead of pointing and clicking they need to tip the remote for side to side.
My kids loved this wii game and I didn’t feel guilty when they played it. It is perfect for children ages 4-7. After that, my kids were done with it because the characters were for "little kids".
A friend recommended this game, and I’m so glad she did. Our kids have so much fun. It has all of their favorite characters — Backyardigans, Dora, Diego and Kai-lan. There’s just one player at a time, but the kids don’t know that — I once had both my kids and their three cousins doing the motions at the same time, all of them having a ball and none of them caring which one was actually holding the controller. I especially appreciate that this game doesn’t require anything too technical. It’s easy motions the kids can do, and it’s super responsive so you don’t have to be too precise in your movement to make something happen. We have a Fit board, but we never use it — all of the games can be played using just the remote. Love, love, love this game.
Grandkids and I love this! We have fun exercising with the characters. We have to take turns because we all wear out so fast!
I bought this for my daughter hoping to help her be a little more active. It worked for awhile, until she figured out all she had to do was move the wii remote and not her entire body. :) It’s still a fun game that’s easy for kids to use. I only wish it was for more than one player.
This is so cute! My kids love to play it (I love playing it with them)! All of their favorite characters and lots of different games to choose from.
This game was originally bought for my 5 year old for Christmas, however her 8 and 11 yr old brother seem to enjoy playing it just as much. My 5 year old does not have any difficulty navigating the screens or using the remote. The games are easy to understand, are alot of fun, and provide great exercise to burn up some extra energy. Even the adults in the house have been playing it. I actually enjoy it more than the wii fit.The only draw back to it (an the reason for 4 stars) is it would be much better if it had more options for multiple players. The only options it gives for multi players is a running relay race and a set of mini exercises. It would be great if the mini games could be multi player as well. For the time being though we just play with one remote and have the kids take turns playing the mini games.
We purchased a Wii for our kids as a way to help them get physical activity when outdoor play is unfeasible. Therefore, I did a lot of research and purchased two games, Nickelodeon Fit and Active Life Explorer, as each seemed to require significant physical movement, while also being age-appropriate for my 3 and 5 year olds. After observing(and on many occasions, joining in on the fun)for about 2 weeks, I began considering which was the ultimate success based on a variety of factors.Activity Level:Nickelodeon Fit: All games require some physical activity, though not super strenuous. This makes it ideal for very young children who are still developing their coordination and might get more frustrated with fast-paced games. However, an older child (6+) will probably not find it as exciting and may quickly become bored with the simplicity of the activities.Active Life Explorer:The majority of the games are very fast paced and most require quick footwork, to include running, jumping, ducking, etc. My 3 year old and 5 year old both love participating in the high energy games and get an unparalleled amount of exercise in the process. Furthermore, because the mat is required for all games, it is not possible to fake the movements by simply holding a Wii remote and flicking your wrist.Simplicity of Instructions:Nickelodeon Fit: Moose provides verbal instructions before each game, and visual prompts are available throughout. Aside from the requirement to hold the remote sideway.
Love this game for my 4 year old daughter. We used to play wii fit but this is more age appropriate. Graphics aren’t as great, but the game serves it’s purpose. I don’t feel guilty letting her play this game every day to get some energy out of her system. It’s also nice for her to have something active to do in the winter.
