THIS IS THE BEST PS2 RACING GAME THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF PLAYING! The cars in the game are so graphically detailed and realistic! There are the coolest cars on the planet on this game. Porsche, Lamborgini, Ferrari, and Lotus to name a few. I thought the Carrer mode was very fun. It isn’t too hard nor too easy, although not original, it still is very addictive. You just win progressively harder races and challenges to unlock all the cars. The hot pursuit mode is very fun ecpecially for 2 players.The only flaw of playing this game that i found was the realism of the damage. You can hit cars head-on at speeds in excess of 100mph and get a headlight put out and a couple of scratches and dents at the most. It doesn’t take off of the fun level of this game. Five out of five
Quite possibly the best racing game of all time. It may not have the graphics as the newer nfs games but it is still a great game. The music is awsome even almost 20 years later.

This game is a combination of racing and being pursuied by cops.It uses the top racing cars in the world.I rented this game at Blockbuster and fell in love with it within hours.I really like the game but not the series.I would buy it after I rent it. Check it out.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 is the best racing game I’ve ever palyed. The graphics are amazing and you have 50 awesome cars from the McLaren to the Ferrari to the Lamborghini to the Mercedes Benz and more. The game never gets old because there are different ways to unlock all of the cars. You can also be the cop in this game which is freakin great. The controls aren’t that hard to figure out, and there are even different control settings you can have. There are plenty of awesome tracks with shortcuts and jumps too. I recommend Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 even for non racing fans because i have more than one friend that its changed.

Forget the few neg reviewers, this game rocks. It is a must have for the racing fan. It is not a technical racing game like GT3, it is a racing game for speed junkies. Race at high speed on the edge of tire adhesion is a blast. Forget Formula One titles braking down to 30 mph to make a stupid granny turn. Not in NFS, its all out racing!If your the "weave in and out of traffic type with the pedal to the medal and the radio blasting then this game is for you!"If your some Arie Luyendyke technical racing guru then get a hohum F1 title and practice your granny turns.
The only thing I do not like about this game are the cops and helicopters because I’m trying to race not get pulled over all the time. However there is just a racing section, just for racing, which I enjoy alot. No cops, just racing and the graphics are really cool. This is another game I pull out often when I want to race. Great game. Tons of races and cars to unlock.
