Metal Gear Solid is not for your typical video game and is especially not for the typical video game player, I know because I find 90% of all modern day video games too repetitive. You played Halo you’ve played every single FPS that will ever be made, if they can slather on new graphics and resale the rotten corpse of Doom to you again and again then have fun. This game all comes down to say one stage, there is an enemy compound with a couple of buildings, some trenches surrounding it, electric fences, wooden sheds with ammo and food, M60s on tripods, a massive helicopter and dozens of enemy soldiers patrolling the area. You can get down and crawl around the edge of the screen until you reach the other side and you’re done. Or you can slowly sneak behind trees around the perimeter of the compound and off every soldier one by one. Or you can off a soldier, drag him to where the most enemies will notice the body, rig it with TNT then detonate when they come to check on him. Or you can sneak to the right around every single enemy, make your way to the ammo shed, rig it with TNT, put claymore mines around perimeter of the shed, sneak under the helicopter rigging it with TNT, then climb on a ladder to the top of a building, detonate the ammo shed, and watch as enemies approaching the smoldering rubble step on your claymore mines (blowing up ammo sheds enemies further down the line will start to run out of ammo during firefights). Or you can take out your AK47 and run straight into.
Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite franchises. I am a sucker for stealth gaming and this one delivers!
This is one of my favorite Metal Gear games. It plays great and is just a lot of fun. I’m glad I purchased it for my collection.
This game blew my expectations away. This is possibly the best prequel I have ever played in any gaming series. This is a game that every gamer must played to understand what to expect from a game.Pros1. The story is one of the best out there. Student vs Master is always a great story.2. I would say all of the characters are great in this game. EVA is by far my favorite character in the game. She seems to have spell on all of the characters around here except the boss haha.3. The cutscenes and graphics are outstanding as always.Cons1. NoneOverall this is one my favorite games on the ps2 system, and a likely candidate of one my favorite games of all time. 10/10.Game on my fellow Gamers.
for Metal Gear fans this is the best one yet. the story does not get in the way of the action, and the story is actaully very interesting. there are some lengthy cut scenes but if you arent playing through a second time it isnt a problem. the only real problem this game has is the camera style, trying to be stealthy and not being able to see where people becomes a problem sometimes. you basically just have to crawl and hope.but the good points of this game far overshadow the bad ones. you have to hunt for food to keep you stamina up, or else your stomach will growl and alert guards. you can get seriously injured and have to perform first aid on yourself. the close quarter combat system is very cool, you can do anything from snaeking up on someone and cutting thier throat with a knife, flip them to the ground and knock them out, interrogate them, or use them as a human shield. you also have various camoflauge suits to find to help you sneak by undetected. there is just too much goodness in this game for me describe it all, the level of detail is amazing as well. you can shoot the radio the guards carry so he cant call for help. that is just one of the things you can do.——–Spoiler———–this is for those that have already beaten the game. the snake in this game is not the real snake. if you will notice at the end he is given the name big boss. that is who the real snake kills in the original Metal Gear. you might also notice it said that big boss’ children were born in.
old but good. Love the game play still. Game has a minor scratch, but nothing a little buffer couldnt fix. Loved it.
This is possibly one of the greatest games ever made. While it has amazing cut scenes and intense action, the biggest selling point is the story line. Lot’s of plot twists and turns that keep your gripped till the very end (and the ending is awesome, not like the let-down that was in metal gear solid 2). I’m the kind of guy that gets bored with a large majority of games today, but I’ve played through this twice already, and I’m considering a third. If you have a PS2 there is no reason why you shouldn’t get this immediately!
I was afraid I wouldn’t like this after growing up on Metal Gear Solid 1. I wasn’t a huge fan of MGS2, but I will say that MGS3 raised the bar. I highly recommend this as I think it is an integral part of the MGS story line.
This game is perfect, from the soundtrack, through the gameplay, the atmosphere and the epic ending.Bought it for my videogame collection. Legendary title. A must play and a must have for any serious gamer.
Your PS2 library isn’t complete without this game.
