This is, simply put, the best tennis video game I’ve ever played. I told all my friends that it’s better than Virtua Tennis, and nobody believed me… until they played it themselves! Now they’re all hooked, too.For the record, I’m thirty years old and I love playing regular tennis as well as watching professional matches. This game comes closer to the experience of real live tennis than anything else I’ve played.Kids will definitely love playing with familiar Nintendo characters like Mario and Yoshi, but don’t mistake this game for child’s play. The character control, variety of shots and overall game play are superb. Plus, the variety of alternate modes keep the game fun long after you’ve mastered the skills. If you’re looking for a tennis game, however old or young you are, this is the one to buy!
This game is the bomb. It is the most fun and adictive game i’ve played, if you play tennis or don’t play tennis this is still a good game to get. Infact this game actually taught me the rules in tennis and i then ended up taking tennis lessons, which is now my favourite sport. Any way in my spare time i like to play this game. It has many cool characters with weaknesses and pro’s at things in tennis like volleys, serves, ground strokes, and speed. This game even has a catagory for each player like yoshi is suited in the speed catogory and donkey kong is suited in the power section. This game also has a great selection of tennis courts like clay courts, hard courts and more, and i think its pretty cool how every time a point is one a replay comes up, and i have to say this game has a great replay value. It is also very easy to learn the moves in this game, though i have to say the game is kinda easy. My favourite thing about this game is the doubles matches. I love versing my friends in doubles, and you can also be partners with your friends in doubles and kick the computers [butt]!!
this game is an old classic that’s really awesome to have for parties or just to play at home. I bought this for my fiancĂƒÂ© for christmas and he plays it all the time! Highly recommend as a gift or just for anyone who loves nostalgic n64 games.
This is such a simple game.In fact, there’s nothing all-inspiring, awesome about it- it doesn’t even add anything new to the genre. But this is an incredibly addictive sports game with lots of cute-till-you-get-blue-in-the-face characters (can anyone say Yoshi or Boo?)And yes, you will play it when you first turn it on, you’ll play it with your friends/brother/sister, you’ll play it when you’re bored, you’ll play it when you are sick of it, you’ll play it, heck just to play it.It’s that kind of game that doesn’t put you into chore-like situations (e.g. RPGs) when you have to go about doing this and that and guides and stuff…no, this is the kind of game that you’re gonna play just to pass the time or to open up the secrets of the game.Whatever it is, Nintendo sure has skill in publishing this gem and Camelot(the developer)has just created the crown jewel of the sports series on the Nintendo 64.No other sports title ever comes this close to the solid aracde-like gameplay of Mario Tennis 64.Of course, graphics and sound are secondary but you’re not gonna buy a tennis game to gawk at the texture of the tennis court are you? Maybe you do- but you’re missing the point already.Another addictive game without the assistance of that over-rated and dangerously supernatural Pokemon franchise. If only Nintendo would stick to ‘safer’games…
Who ever knew you could play tennis in so many different ways? This game was a lot of fun. My favorite part was picking the character I was going to play with. There were a ton of options for everything. You could play doubles, singles? and you could pick what court you played on too. they even had a tilting court. There were about 12 characters to pick from. Some of them were old and some were new. I would recommend this game to anyone. it’s very fun.

All your favorite Nintendo characters are here…to play tennis!? This game is loaded with multi-player fun! Team up with your friend and go against the opposite team! But if you don’t have any friends (I feel sorry for you), Then take on the 1 player cups, including the mushroom cup, the star cup, and the flower cup (not too mention secret ones)! Just remeber one thing, if you’re playing against your friends don’t double-fault, it’s pretty embarassing (take it from "Captain Give-them-the-game".
One of the most addictive games ever!
Like almost every Mario game, this game is excellent. It’s clean and polished, and, most importantly, incredibly enjoyable to play.If you’re not into "realistic" tennis games – by that, I mean games which look realistic – this game has to be one of the best tennis games for any console out there. The controls are clean and still simple, there is a wide variety of characters, all with different characteristics, to choose from, and the variety of gameplay modes all add to the fun.Playing against the computer can be amusing for a while, but where this game really shines is multiplayer mode. If you have someone of comparable skill to play with, this game is loads of fun. There’s nothing quite like winning a tiebreaker to win a hard-earned match, and then being able to trash talk to the person right next to you!The physics is also good. There are different courts with varying ball speed and bounce, so, like in real life, court composition makes a very significant difference in style of play. All these features make a game which is fun to play and can still last for dozens of hours. Get this game!
Mario Tennis is a good game. You get to play Tenis with the Mario characters. There are a lot to choose from, and the game is great to play at parties. While the game has it’s good things, there are some bad things about it. The stadiums could have used a little work by making them more exciting, there could have been more levels to choose from on multi-player, the characters to choose from are never ok, they are either very good, or they stink. The game is a good game, but not without is’s many faults.
