The third game in the God of War Franchise – God of War: Chains of Olympus – serves as the prequel to the first two games in the series published for PlayStation 2. This game is a truly wonderful game. It captures the great gameplay and experience of its console counterparts well. It is on the short side of around 6-7 hours but for a handheld thats to be expected. If you love God of War or action games, this is a must purchase.
I just recently re-discovered the God of War games (yeah, took me a while I know) Just like my title reads, this game has successfully captured the full God of War experience on the psp with nothing sacrificed. I was very amazed by the graphic quality of it which, at least to an untrained eye like mine, look just as good and at times even better than the ps2 counterparts. The controls are very dynamic and it’s a fantastic adaptation of the dynamism the console versions have. The story is fantastic and overall, you’re in for a ton of fun. If you have not tried any GOW game before, this would be the perfect one to start with, as it is chronologically the first one in the saga and the gameplay difficulty at normal level is not frustrating at all. I know it’s an old game by now but it is worth playing. When you’re done with this one you will definitely want to try Ghost of Sparta.
Very good. If you only buy one of this series, buy the newer Ghost of Sparta.
I bought this game on a whim. I was buying something else on retrolio and I looked up the game, found that the price wasn’t bad and ordered it. I’ve always wanted to play the game but I just never had the opportunity to. The game is fun and well designed, and has great graphics for a PSP game too. I’m not sure it’s appropriate for young children though as there is a fair bit of fantasy violence and killing, and of course, the sex minigame (you don’t see anything but still…)
Pretty good game. Kept me busy for a while. Story line was long enough and entertaining for me to keep on coming back and actually finish the game.

Simply put, this is the best PSP game on the market and one of the most stunning handheld games ever made. The production value is through the roof. I have never played a handheld game that was of this caliber, if it were twice as long I would call it the single greatest achievement on any portable system.From the moment I started the game, I was emotionally involved and I did not want to put the game down. I had not played the other GOW games, so this was all new to me… and I was hooked. The action was intense, but the puzzles were never complex.The few issues that I had were with the length of the game, and the thumb pad, some fights hurt!If you have a PSP, you have to play this game… I hope this is the harbinger of the future for the PSP, because it proves that Sony’s little console is quite something!
