I had been reading quite a bit about this little card game. When a lot of people make a fuss about something, you can almost bet that there is truth to at least some of it. This game created a stir online and yes, there is a LOT of truth to much of it.The cards are great quality. The artwork also measures up. It has a vintage feel to it – very appropriate considering that it is based on pretty ancient movie media.The game play is simple once you try it and yet, holds a few nice layers of strategy. The fact that you can only use certain sets of cards during one game gives this a fair amount of replayability. Some casual players might initially be apprehensive due to what appears to be a lot of rules, but those same players quickly catch on and the game moves at a nice, brisk pace afterwards.The length of time for a game is spot-on. Most games last about 20 – 25 minutes and that is a perfect timeframe for a filler game or for people that don’t have long attention spans. The nice thing about this game is that there is an expansion that gives even more options for sets of cards that may be used in a game. That means that the combinations of characters and mortals will keep the game fresh for quite a while.I loved this game and if you are looking for a light diversion with some subtle strategy and tactic, this should be a prime contender for you next game night! Plays better with more people, and its limit of 5 allows everyone to play!
Really fun game!! Takes a second to learn but fun when you get the hang of it.
This game has campy style of creature genre which I adore. Also the gameplay mechanic is not anything new, But nails at the point. I highly recommend getting with the expansion which has right amount of contents.
I bought this (from a brick and mortar store) for myself for Christmas just because the artwork is so beautiful! Played it for the first (and second) time today and the whole family loves it. It’s pretty easy to learn- I watched a video and set it up myself, and then we all learned as we went along. At first, I didn’t really see how strategy would play into it, but it does- and nicely. I also love the fact that it’s a fast game, which means that you can move on to something else (busy parents out there), or if you have more time, you can play it again. Honestly, I love it so much, I got on retrolio and just ordered the expansion pack (because how much fun are man-eating plants?) and the Space Park game by the same company. I can’t wait!
This game is perfect! It’s a quick simple strategy card game that sets up easy and isn’t too complicated. The art and subject of the game looks so cool. Makes for a great casual game time that doesnt take up the whole day. I love it!
This is such a cute and charming game. It’s quick to learn and fun to play. If you’re looking for a good two-player game, this is a solid option.

I bought this because the artwork is phenomenal but this game is one for the books. I’ve played with 3-5 people and each time is a slap of fun!It’s a bit of a learning curve if you don’t usually play “complex†table games, but it’s very simple once you have an expert in the room. The video tutorial helps a lot if instructions aren’t your thing.You can tell a true game designer made this. :)
