This came in the mail just yesterday and I played it as soon as i got home! Great game, If you played the previous two then you’ll love this one.It had a few glitches.. but nothing serious. One of them I had to restart from my last checkpoint cause it glitched so bad, but It fixed itself. There was another glitch where batman kept saying the same line over and over again about "finding a code to a locked door".. but that was fixed when i got to my next checkpoint. So nothing big..The game could have used another month or two of polishing and brushing up as there are some parts that are rough around the edges, but nevertheless, it is a fantastic game. it has a lot more of a christopher nolan feel to it. batman himself looks a lot like the batman from the recent films. its obvious some inspiration was drawn from them. example, batmans cowl no longer has the neck and shoulder attached to it, the cowl and neck part are separate like the one in the dark knight film. (batman can realistically turn his head! woo!)Back to the game though, I played it for 8 hours straight (I know, I have no life haha) and I’m still completely invested in it. The only reason i stopped playing was because I had to sleep. I didn’t want to spoil the gameplay with my drowsiness. Its an amazing game though, I give it a solid 9/10. Even though the original voice actors did not return for this one, i was okay with it. I think everyone sounds great. The boss battles have been pretty easy. death stroke ga.
I bought this game after it had dropped to $30 on Wii U, which in my opinion is a huge bargain. It took quite a few hours just to get through the main story, and even after that there were tons of extras whenever I wanted a little break from the narrative. I thought this game was actually better than Batman: Arkham City, which is saying something. The combat is awesome, the upgrade system is well thought out, and the characters and their interactions are compelling from beginning to end. I actually felt a little bit sad when I finished the game because the story was so good. It leaves you wanting more, which is how any great game, movie or book should be. Again, as I said in the title of my review, I like this game more than any other Wii U game I’ve played, except for possible Lego City.
Game graphics are incredible. I know this is an older Batman game, but my son never played it before. Very coo, now if we can only get past Deathstroke! Thank you!
While combat is improved, the story is another matter. Batman doesn’t seem to have a real motive other than stopping the bad guy. At least the other ones had something more three dimensional.
When I bought my Wii U last December, the very first game I purchased (not counting Nintendo Land) was Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition. I was incredibly impressed with all of the unique features added to the game via the Gamepad, including the radio chatter being played through the Gamepad’s speaker (which made the game more immersive), the map being placed on that screen (which eliminated the need to pause every time I lost my bearings), the placement of character bios, challenges, upgrade menus, and gadget access on the lower screen (making it much easier to read text, especially), and the use of the touchscreen for most of those functions (whether playing on the TV or on the Gamepad itself). Hacking felt more like hacking with having to use the touchscreen to find and activate hidden nodes. Aiming certain gadgets was made butter-smooth by using the built in gyroscope. Blowing up individual explosive gel placements (one at a time) was made possible (and easier) with the touchscreen. And of course playing the entire game on the Gamepad screen with extreme ease was probably the best feature of all. All of these things made the Armored Edition of Arkham City the DEFINITIVE version of an already amazing game. When I heard that Arkham Origins would be coming out for Wii U, I was expecting the same features. While the game definitely kept the best features like off-TV play, radio chatter through the Gamepad speaker, and the map being displayed on the touchscreen, the majority.
This is the second Batman game we got, this one is cool in that you start out not really having all your powers and gain them as you go. It’s not too unlike the other batman games, puzzles and deciphering maps and clue as well as the typical brawling. Graphics are great and the game is fun.
The game is just as good as Xbox 360 and ps3 versions but you need the Nintendo pro controller to enjoy… so buy it to play this game… son enjoys. You can go cheap on off brand controller to suit games on Wii u that need it… expect 25 to 50 for a pro controller… still game looks good and is fun.
The third installment of the Batman series is just as good if not better than Arkham City. The fighting is better. The WIIU gamepad makes it an even better experience as opposed to PS or Xbox. Highly recommend this game for any Batman fans.
I had already played this on the 360, but since I’ve since sold that system when I bought my Xbox One I was eager for a chance to play it again and my new Nintendo WiiU allowed me that.Feels like the exactly the same game I enjoyed on the 360, however the frame rate suffers a little bit, but it’s tolerable.
The game story is fantastic, like a great movie or book, and the Joker is as great a villain as ever. Plus, it still feels great to be Batman! I agree the game mechanics don’t have a significant upgrade or change, the Riddler puzzles are weaker, and there were a few bugs even after being out so long, so the game isn’t perfect. But overall, it’s a still an awesome experience, well worth playing. To anyone that enjoyed the first two, you’re almost certain to enjoy this one… especially at such a great price.
