if you like the action of need for the speed, the music and voices from ridge racer and the challenge of burnout.. then… this is a game for you…
I had heard horrible reviews about ridge racer so I bought this one instead. Graphics are great and the cars are hott.
Not really a simulator but a lot of fun for some crazy driving. Lots of extras and power ups to keep the race interesting. The graphics are fantastically beautiful and smooth as butter. For a launch title it’s well above the norm.
I am not a very technical guy when it comes to games…but this one is of the nice ones out there…The cars look and behave on the road as you would expect a real car would….lets not get carried away this is a PSV we are talking about not PS3….There are a lot of levels and races to go through and it is not easy at all…especially the Police Chases…Drifting was a bit tricky to get a handle on…but once you do…it is really fun to just skid sideways and keep collecting these points ($)….I think it will take a while to finish it all and collect all the cars…and there are really cool cars there….The challenging part is to win the car boost for the engine, brakes, suspension…etc You do not know when they will give it but it is invigorating to win them and boost your 400BHP car to 409BHP…..Go for it…..it is worth every dollar…
This game is one of the few racers on the Vita and it is what it sets out to be, fun!Unlike Ridge Racer, it has a single player campaign. One that spans over 15 different tracks, with multiple game modes. 50+ cars and multiplayer round out a huge package for the small price.Control is spot on, allowing for gamepad or six-axis movement.Visuals are done very well. This is a port from Android, but upgrades were made to the models, lighting and tracks… making it look noticeably better on the Vita.Sound is good, nothing special. Music is sort of generic, but can be replaced by your own soundtrack.Overall, there isnt a better arcade racer on the Vita right now. This game offers quite a bit for what you pay(especially if you download it at $26.99). Sure, it is only $7 on the Android, but you are stuck with the small screen(phone) and inferior visuals and controls.I, as the other reviewer has stated, cant put it down. It is a blast to play and a pleasure to look at.
Ok, so I picked this game up because of the fact that I wanted an ‘infrastructure’ online game for my Vita. I didn’t want to get Dungeon Hunter because I’ve been there done that before. So I opted for the ‘arcadey’ racing game, and boy am I glad I did.I can’t put this game down, it’s always, ‘ahhh just one more race’, repeat, repeat, repeat!! So where do I start? Graphics are pretty intense, especially when you get to the more scenic areas a little further into the game. You’ll drive through lava and ice areas in Reykjavik, glass covered underwater aquariums in Nassau, neon-filled city areas in Tokyo and a beautiful palace in Moscow! I’m not a huge car buff (which is why I went for the more arcade style racer) but the models look pretty sweet, and there is a lot of customization for each car as well, but you must unlock parts and things for them as you progress through your career. The fun factor is high in this one. If you’ve ever played any game in the ‘Burnout’ series, you’ll know how much fun it is to knock other racers off the tracks ‘elimination’ style. This is what you do in this game as well. Only thing is, I think they could’ve made the crashes and wreckage look a little better. Instead it looks like a few triangles and sparks flying around. There are quite a few different modes of play. Normal Race, Elimination, Collector (pick up as much money as you can), Chase (where you outrun cops) and Duel (one on one). There may be 1 or 2 more but I can’t recall. I will update.
We are happy with this purchase.
